It's cute that Crosby does that crap and then backs down from rookies when they challenge him.

Giroux had mentioned earlier that one of the wrist issues had been around since junior. Regardless, this isn't whining. If he hadn't been asked the question he likely wouldn't have said a thing about Crosby.

As for Doan, I bet Jamison doesn't have the money and Doan will really look elsewhere. I believe he's from BC so maybe that's why he's interested in playing with the Canucks.

Who do people see as the 4C? Fedotenko? Talbot? Rinaldo? Holmstrom? Couturier? Read? I assume one of the first two, but I am not entirely sure at all.

Fedotenko 34 attempts 47%
Talbot 640 attempts 44.4%

All this bad blood with the Penguins...it is not going to be pretty when something happens.

Unless there's a sign and trade, cross Enstrom off your lists. Signs a multi-year extension with WPG.

Yep, the free agent class which looks so strong right now will start to dwindle. Most likely teams will have to go the trading market to find replacements they are seeking like always

Dominic Moore can still be had. He's a solid center. Depends on if they work with in house options or bring in outside help.

He's from Alberta, actually.

I imagine that his interest in Vancouver is the strength of the team. Edmonton and Calgary likely won't be Cup contenders for the next couple of years and, if Doan's coming to a Canadian team, he's probably going to pick his best shot at a Cup run.

I think his wife is from BC, I'd heard there is some kind of BC connection. If he closes the door on Phoenix today, that is likely the end of the Yotes in Phoenix. How long is this Jamison thing supposed to take? He's the only potential buyer and has been for months.

well damn, that means the Flyers are screwed because they are blacklisted from every other team in the league for that OS on Weber

I for one have no problem with crosby's extra curricular activities. Superstars get away with more , and it would not be hard to find examples of giroux getting away with some dirty plays as well.

Its hockey, if you are not doing every little thing to win then you are cheating yourself and your team. So what if crosby dives, if he gets a pp out of it scores and wins the game no one will remember it. Winners get celebrated and losers complain and whine about how they were cheated.

Yeah, he played his junior hockey in Kamloops and I believe that's where he met his wife.

The Coyotes situation is a mess, primarily due to the resistance and demands set out by the Goldwater Institute.

I suspect there is now a conspiracy to collude between all the NHL teams that requires that any trade proposal between the Flyers and team X will have to involve one of or both Schenn and Couturier...so that means the Flyers will never trade ever again....

I am sure there are folks on the main board who actually believe this

I believe Moore's wife has cancer or something like that, I think he won't be playing this year.

Doan is apparently expecting 4 years, and around $30m, which is slightly over $7m/y. I've wanted him all summer, but he's not worth that, not at 35 years old. I'd have no problem doing $5.5-6m/y, but $7+ is too high.

Way too much. If it was 1 year they might consider it. Hartnell UFA next summer and Simmonds RFA will both get raises. Giroux, Schenn and Couturier RFAs the summer after will be very expensive. Timonen UFA next summer as well.

Sarah Baicker ‏@sbaickerCSN

RT @dshoalts Shane Doan wants $30-million over four years if he leaves Phoenix Coyotes, source says. That will scare off more than Detroit

he's actually expecting THAT MUCH?

wow, who does Doan think he is? The guy has never had a point-per-game season, scored a career high 31 goals, had lead his team past the 2nd round once, and is on the downside of his career

I think Doan is a great character player and leader, who you can expect to chip in 50-60 points, but $7m a season on a multi year deal?

Doan can go suck a bag of dicks

Personally I'd offer him, at the most, $13-14m over 3 years
