it's 3:00am and AK46 is looking alright. second thought.... i think i'm content to just hit the eat n park midnight buffet and call it a night..till february.

On the other hand, we no longer have Eat n Park in Harrisburg.
That's with MacIntyre and Strait's contracts counting as part of the 22 man roster.
i'm aware of that, imo tangradi replaces big mac, and strait will be on the roster, and probably bortuzzo or a 14th forward, either way someone else. so with a full roster, including Despres we have even less cap space

After ak46 and Doan sign elsewhere, I hope the pens don't sign any other free agent. The list is pathetic after these 2. The pens didn't have the assets to acquire Nash and can't acquire Ryan as of now. So they'll have to acquire a reclamation project in my opinion if Kennedy, tangradi and Martin are your most valuable tradable assets.
(still not sure why semin wasn't signed for all of these reasons )
I was wondering if we really can spend to the cap ...
70 milion $ is a lot of money if you aren't Toronto or New York.
This year i didn't hear that Shero is "allow" to spend to the cap.
I now that Burkle is a gazillonier, but the franchise is another thing.

Bar anything major, I think this is what you will see at the start of the season. Who knows, maybe Cooke and Tangradi will be transposed but I feel that Tangradi will get an opportunity this season with a quality winger being sought at the deadline, if necessary/possible.
That forward group is kinda weak... One wing injury to neal or kunitz and its hurting
True but is it really that much different than last year? we had Sully but he's not as good as Kunitz or Neal either. if Tangradi and or Jeffrey plays well i don't see too much difference.
the one good thing imo is we signed a lot of good experienced AHL forwards and we have actual prospects like Bennett, Kuhnhackl and Uher that good get called up aswell. so if nothing else we have better call up options this year if there's injuries. last year we had tangradi and thats pretty much it.
I still maintain that the forward corps is totally fine. With Kunitz on Sid's wing, and Neal on Malkin's, there is no real reason to freak out. The only thing that has sucked about this off-season is that we've had a ******** of money to spend and no luxury player took the bait.
The defense still scares me. Regardless of how they all played last season, losing Michalek is not a plus. I hope Martin can turn his game around big time, and Despres is ready to shine for a full season.
Maybe Shero likes having cap space given the CBA uncertainty? And maybe he knew the 4-5 players he wanted, and was willing to pay them competitively, but if he was unable to get those 4-5, he wasn't going to make a move for the sake of making a move? Maybe he'd rather wait until a trade comes along, etc...?
Okay, I'm sorry, I'm nuts. Shero is sitting on his hands drinking corona, rolling around in crisco, trying to find a way to embezzle all of that cap space into his swiss account.
You can't count on anything happening at the deadline anymore. Too many teams are still in the mix at that point. Unless Calgary is in last place, I don't see them disposing of Iggy at the deadline.

Iggy might force them to, if they are out of the playoff picture.
in confident in our team, shero and the rest of the staff to make good choices.
which i hope is to wait until the end of next season for FA's or make a juicy trade for a stud young-ish winger for sid at some point into this coming season.
