I don't see the upside for Minnesota. Bouchard still seems to fill a role in their top-6. On the other hand, Santorelli cleared waivers not too long ago, giving us a bit of an indication of his value. I would not expect Bouchard's to be too close to that.
The Wild don't need to clear salary since they have several large expiring contracts after next season (PMB, Backstrom, Cullen) to the tune of about $14m. Besides until the Wild are sure the next wave of prospects is ready to help moving PMB makes the Parise acquisition less of an impact.
The Wild expect to be a playoff team next season but dealing a top six forward and hoping Coyle, Larsson, Zucker are ready now would be a huge mistake.
I'd think they would just prefer to keep PMB. No pressing reason not to, really.
Has an NTC and doesn't want to move, apparently.
he has a NTC and he is quite big here with charity, just donated a million to build a room for sick kids to take their minds off being sick. i think it would be a big PR to move him. plus he would be a solid vet to guide the younger guys.
he gets too much hate from Wild fans because he isn't great and cant carry a team.
how about Granlund for Bjugstad, yes i'm a wild fan, and i think Wild made a huge mistake passing on Bjugstad
I think that would be a mistake for both teams, I hate to say this... but I think Granlund is worth more in value than Bjugstad is anyways. Surprising you say that.
I say yes to the OP's post.. I think Florida might have been able to get away with something like this a couple of years ago, but Santorellis value has really fallen. The value isn't fair and I can understand that as a Panthers fan.
