Upside:
- Gives us great balance. All three top lines carry a combination of speed, grit, scoring and passing
- Gaborik and Nash have Chemistry
Anyway, since you said day one, and Gabby is most likely gone, it would probably something like:
Kreider - Richards - Nash
Hagelin - Stepan - Callahan
Pyatt - Boyle - Asham
Rupp - Halpern - Newbury

Every day that goes by the more rumors come out with these absurd offers for Doan. In the end I think we do this with hopefully a helpful Sauer. This is also with gaborik back:
Since I got no answer in the prospect thread, how good is the chance that Miller overtakes Boyle as the 3rd line center? Boyle is pretty much completely useless offensively for most of the year.
If Callahan is playing with Richards and Nash, its MUCH better to have Cally play the left. Richards dishes the puck better to his right flanker. Therefore, you would probably want your biggest scoring threat playing the off wing.
Cally is also a righty, so he would be in a better shooting position off of potential rebounds.

They will probably give him a hard look. But he would have to REALLY impress in order to upsurp that 3rd line center position at the beginning of the year. Realistically, if he does make the team, it will be mid-season.

Thanks. Even if he's moderately ready I would think he'd be better than Boyle. No offense to Boyle, he's a good C, but he shouldn't a 3rd line C on a contender. He's an eye sore there, just jumps out at you. Especially if we get Doan.

You don't have to tell me dude. I'm not too thrilled with Boyle as our 3C either.
Why do people have a problem with Boyle. He's a solid 3rd line center that can play the PK. What else do you need? He's not going to put up 60 points a year and he's not supposed to. If he gets 12-15 goals he did his job. He's still young too and just entering his prime. He'll be a solid 3rd line guy for us -- no need to hope for a rookie to step up.
Whatsup with Asham? I don't think the season starts on time.
He still has a game left on his suspension from last year so no matter when the season starts he'll have to serve it. I just put the part about the season not starting on time because Gaborik could be on the opening night roster if the season starts late enough.

And no wat to st.croix being on the team to the poster above. Kid has a ways to go before he is NHL ready. Dont care what his stats are.
Stralman, before MDZ or SAUER..no ****ing way dude!
a healthy Sauer and staal is excellent.Amazing actually and temed with a combo of Girardi-McD..Best top 4 in the league. Just dont like DZ on 3rd pairing to b honest, but thats how it seems to work.
