Give me a name. That whole replacement level garbage assumes there is someone in the system who could replace him today with equal production. There isn't.

The dude is 23. KW isn't ready to give up on him yet, and I'm glad he runs the team and not you because I agree with him.

on pace for 25+hrs and only 23. Not striking out TOO much either. Granted, he can't take a walk for ****, but i think it would behoove the sox to give him at least until july of next year to see if he improves before they trade him. Beckham though, god damn, he still had good value like a year and a half ago and they refused to trade him.

They could trade for almost any bench player and be ok. Could trade for Reed Johnson and be ok.

Hence why I was saying the whole Greinke deal made no sense.

on pace to k like 140 this year. Also on pace for 29 hr's and 90rbi's at the bottom of the order. At 23, I'd say that's pretty respectable and worth keeping for a bit.

He crushed in May, it's propping up his numbers.

The guy is 23 and his major issue is his lack of patience at the plate. That's not shocking for a young player and probably not something that will change much for Dayan. He's also played an acceptable LF and is on pace for around 25 bombs. But yeah, he's worthless.

He's been terrible in left, he's a DH.

And where did you come up with that? The boatload of Sox games that you've watched or the numbers? His UZR is -1.9. That's not Gold Glove or even good, but it's not freakin' Carlos Lee out there either. Acceptable for a young player who wasn't signed as an outfielder and whose main tool is and will be his bat.

Burnitz's first full season in the MLB wasn't until he was 28.

Pretty sure this is what is going to happen, and it's stupid. Don't even think LaHair is going to be moved at this point.

Knew Maholm was pitching well, but didn't realize over the last 30 days he is...

5-0
38 IP
27 K
.94 ERA
.89 WHIP

Didn't some Sox fans say they didn't want him, and wanted Milwood instead?

He has pretty much the same tools as Burnitz did. Potential to have a 40 HR season in his peak year(s), but doesn't provide much else other than power.

The whole never pitched in the AL thing is very overrated, especially when we're talking about low cost, bottom of the rotation guys. I could see being concerned with a high cost, ace type, but when you're talking about moving depth prospects, come on.

Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN

Before the Mariners traded Ichiro to the Yankees, they had been deep in talks with the Giants and White Sox.

I wonder who he would have pushed out of the lineup. Viciedo or De Aza? I would think Viciedo just because he hasn't played CF in 4 years, but they could possibly have moved Rios there.

Ichiro would have been 4th OF for White Sox

He isn't that good anymore

Yeah our OF is fine right now, and Rios looks like a different guy when he's playing RF. Wouldn't want to move him back to center.

I doubt that, considering he's still a great fielder with great base running instincts. Not to mention, SAFECO finally got to him. He would have looked quite a bit better in the Cell against AL Central pitching regularly.

It looks pretty clear that you're implying it, in saying that his tools are already peaked out at a the level of a guy who took 5 more years to break into the majors, but that's just me.
