Despres-Letang
Orpik-Niskanen
Bylsma said he would be pairing Despres and Letang together.

I think he runs

Despres-Letang
Orpik-Niskanen
Engelland-Martin
Strait

Pens need more offense? The 10 goals they scored against philly wasn't enough?

What does your top 4 need? He was injured for a lot of last year with freak injuries like getting hit in the adam's apple with a puck, he is definitely a top 4 player as of right now.

I don't think he's available, unless one of our rookies has an outstanding camp, but a returning Scuderi would fit the bill.

Who would you give us for Dan Boyle? I think having Letang and Boyle on the same team would be naughty.

i think Boyle is the caliber of player that Shero is looking for - he wants a top D-man partner to go along with Letang if one is available.

not a second pairing guy and definitely not any bottom-pairing types (although a very vocal contingent of the fanbase would love a big physical crease-clearing defensive defensemen).

Thats kind of what I was thinking. I'm a Sharks fan so I would be sad to lose Boyle, but I am interested in what we could get for him.
Boyle tries to be as physical as he can, but his size does limit him. I dont think it affects his game though.

What's with the hate for the Big Z trade? Z was average-at-best here. He didn't belong. Just a shame the rumor of trying to acquire Yandle for Big Z + more wasn't true.

I wish that would have happened. Who knows maybe Michalek wanted to go back to Pheonix and Shero made him happy

We could use another top 6 winger

Basically every Pens fan is convinced that because the Pens lost to the Habs in 2010, we need more offence. Forget for the moment that Halak was on the hottest goalie streak since J.S. Giguere circa 2003. Also, if you mention that Crosby scored 66 points in 41 games on a line with Kunitz & Dupuis, they'll tell you "Yeah but that was regular season" as if the regular season and playoffs are as different as hockey and baseball."

That being said, I was really hoping that the Pens would get a winger for Sid just because it would have been fun to watch but yeah, they won't be hurting on offence.

No he wasn't. Neither was Guerin. Sully signed while Penguins pursued Parise...hmmmm...

Michalek was very good on the PK (not so much in the playoffs) but he was pretty up and down at ES.

Lol yeah, then 2010 Caps would have needed more offense, they had what, 7 20-goal scorers? And 10 15-goal scorers. And total of 313 ****ing goals over the regular season.

Komisarek and Eaton are definitely not the answer.

I'd take a look at Kubina or Spacek on a one year deal.

We don't have anything to give up to get back anything worthwhile.

Top 6 forward spot? If we fail to get Doan then we just sign Kristian Huselius, who (when healthy) would rack up points on Sid's wing.

Holes filled. Team fixed.

So? He didn't want to. He planned on moving on from the older players. He didn't want to re-sign Sullivan, Asham or Park. Vokoun's 36, but he's also a solid goalie that we needed.

EDIT: Well that's not true because he's going after Doan, but Shero didn't want Sullivan anymore, he even encouraged Sullivan's camp to take one of the two offers he had.
