Fehr I wouldn't mind. There's a reason Huselius' name was pronounced Useless in an NHL 2k game.

Why not give Huselius a try out contract?

He has been pretty good up until the last 2 years due to injuries

Most fans live by the motto "what have you done for me lately".

Huselius is definitely better suited to the top 9 when healthy (which of course is rarely) than a guy like Fedetenko.

If he'd take a tryout, it's a no brainier.

I would hate to see the Pens go anywhere.....Like them or not, our club and theirs have a tremendous rivalry and that's what its all about in sports in my opinion.....Man U VS Man city? Auburn vs Alabama, Eagles vs Cowboys etc.It brings the passion out in the teams and fan base.

Not true.

Fedotenko is underrated.

Size, works the boards, plays the PK and is a good defensive forward. He had 5 pts in 6 gms vs. the Devils and created many chances on the forecheck which Gaborik couldn't bury.

Huselius is soft and hasn't produced at a high level for a while.

Fedotenko > Huselius.

Fedotenko > Huselius.
Last year Huselius scored 2 less points than Fedetenko in about 40 less games.

Fedetenko hasn't scored more than 30 points since 08-09.. Huselius was scoring almost double that until his injuries popped up the last 2 years

As a born and bred Manc and Man city fan since birth I am very happy you included that rivalry in the list.

One of the best days of my life was 4-1 in march 04... (and of course beating them 6-1 at old trafford this year!)

The derby used to be even better when our stadium was Maine Road, was situated in one of the roughest areas of Britain, in the middle of houses, and the atmosphere around the place was electric.

I think it would be foolish to not give him a tryout. I watch the CLB the 2nd most behind the Flyers. He's not a bad player when he isnt injured. He is still a top 9 player when healthy.

I actually think it would be a good idea to give JP Dumont a tryout.

I'd rather we just outright sign one of Doan, Moore, or Arnott and say screw the tryouts.

I have to say...I love Ruslan Fedotenko for this team. I don't love the $ amount, but it doesn't matter.

We don't need more 20 goal scorers or anything...we could use a proven playoff monster who can play PK, be responsible defensively, and has some size.

If we can get Doan, awesome. If not, I'm content.

As I've said many times before, I would love a 4th line center that could win faceoffs and reduce the burden of Couturier logging so many PK minutes every game. While Talbot can play defense, he sucks at draws and a PK with Feds and him winging a big time defensive center would be awesome.

Dominic Moore/Jason Arnott would make a bigger difference than people realize because in addition to their faceoffs, PK ability, and defense, they free up Sean Couturier for more offensive zone time. I think we all would agree that would definitely improve his ability to grow into a more complete player.

I agree with you. I'd love Dom Moore as well. Whatever works.

Not all about points, otherwise Nik Zherdev would still be employed by an NHL team.

I saw people on the main boards call him that. I have no idea what their evidence is or if they're correct

I don't understand the *****ing about Fedotenko cap hit when we have lots of cap space and it's only for one season

Doesn't matter how much cap space we have in this instance...I think he's well over-paid.

Can I not have an opinion? I'm not demanding he should be traded or calling for Holmgren's job. I'm just saying I think he was signed for a lot more than anyone (including myself) thought.

1.75 mil out of a 70 mil cap is pretty miniscule. He made 1.4 mil last year, so a 350k raise on a ~6mil raise on the cap is pretty standard
