We own the Stanley Cup B****es! #3 ranked prospect

Here are the results thus far:

#1: Tyler Toffoli (75.61%) Runner-up: Andrei Loktionov (15.85%)
#2: Andrei Loktionov (42.59%) Runner-up: Tanner Pearson (27.78%)

As noted previously based on discussion on the board, I've decided to leave Dwight King and Oscar Mollar out of the prospect voting as they have been deemed graduated (in King's case) and generally not wanted to be considered a prospect (in Mollar's case) from what I read. I will however leave Holloway and Nolan in the mix, as Nolan's status as a King next year seems much more uncertain than King's, which seems to be the general concensus of the boards.

Remember to reply to this thread with who you want added for the next round.

It was close for me between Pearson and Forbort, but I went with Pearson.

Forbort has been a bit of a disappointment so far but he still has great potential. Hopefully he turns it around, as he has all the tools.

Given the lack of Jones as an option, I gotta go Forbort. Not sold on Pearson until he plays a game in the AHL.

Add Jones

If you're going to include Holloway, please add him next.

Hickey. I've seen Forbort play. Like watching a slower Matt Greene.

I will if he gets voted onto the list. Thus far, that has not happened.

I've always thought Muzzin was more of a young Matt Greene, and Forbort was more of a young Willie Mitchell with less grit, still has a lot to learn and a lot of work to do, but can become a very competent defender. Either way, I voted for Pearson. Though for these three, I don't think you can go wrong with either Forbort, Hickey, or Pearson.

Add Jones.

I had to go with Vey. He is still a full season away from his cup of tea imo but he has NHL 2/3rd line center with solid scoring and two way play written all over him. It might be hard for us to find room for him on the Kings but the kid will play in the NHL and be a good one when he does.

Add Kitsyn.

He will be back in NA and should be considered in the mix.

He is and I think that's wat TG was getting at, was that after this year he'll be in he mix. Right now though I have a hard tme putting him anywhere near the top 10 or possibly even 20. He dropped ven further than ND isn my eyes and he was barelyin my top 20 last year (Kityn that is, not ND.)

This is his last year under contract with the KHL but we can always ask for an exemption if either of us decided that we wanted to do so. I will say that when he does come over that he will establish himself in short order as one of our top prospects.

This past season may look a bit like a set back if you judge only the numbers but if you understand the inner workings of the Russian Hockey Federation and have followed him closely you can see that he has done very well under the circumstances.

Kitsyn's game is exactly what we are looking for out of our second line LW. The question is rather or not it will translate to the NHL entirely. I believe that it will but that he will need a full season of AHL play before we will know for sure.

He has proven during his time in NA that he can dominate a game when he wants to and be a very effective top 6er the rest of the time.

Pearson over Vey here. A bit surprised to see Forbort ahead of this poll. I still have yet to see anything from him that screams impact prospect. Curious to see where this poll would be if he weren't a former first round pick.

Add Michael Mersch who is wildly under appreciated on this board.

That's what is interesting about this poll beyond the top two or three it's pretty much wide open. I don't think any of Jones, Forbort, Vey, or Pearson (or Nolan for that matter) are the wrong choice here.

For me it comes down to Forbort is a big unknown, the upside is there and I've seen no indication that he won't reach it and that's why I'd take him here. Personally on my list i made up when it was announced we'd do this again I have Jones at 3 but I still like Forbort a lot as well.

I guess this is where I disagree with so many here, I'm not sure there is that much upside.

Forbort is a big guy, his size and reach mask many poor plays and reads I have seen him make in college, that won't work in the NHL against faster, bigger and stronger pros.

And his offensive game, which many said was high (though raw) has been non-existent at the NCAA level.

I'm not saying he is Colten Teubert bad, but I don't think he'll be anything more than a 5 or 6.

I agree with pretty much all of this. I think Pearson has higher upside than Vey, and Forbort seems like he'll be a larger defensive defenseman. I think the best comparison is Jeff Schultz.

And Michael Mersch is very much underrated. I have a couple players I suggest be on the list ahead of Mersch... but he is in my top 10 list of prospects.
