Mason would actually feel like a regular goalie for once. What's the goals against average, 10 goals each in the Allstar game? That's almost what Mason averages a game.

He will for once since his rookie year look good .

Btw I wasn't trying to troll or start a flamewar or something. I was just having fun like you were, nominating Mason.

It was made quite obvious when Ovechkin has been nominated the last 2 season with sub-par points. It's all about showcasing all the big names. If you're a famous player and you have let's say 45 points and you're a reasonably unknown player who has scored 60 points that season. No way in hell (if it's down to those two) does the less known player get to play instead of the star. That's just the way it is.

Look at James Neal and Ovechkin last season for instance.

Over 1000 games in the NHL and he seems like he has the respect of other players and fans around the league. We could probably easily persuade Tampa Bay and Rangers fans (maybe Philly) to stuff the ballot box on his behalf. It would be a good sendoff for a player who has left nothing on the table during his career.

Given all the talk about how he goes full-tilt in practices, I could see him playing at regular game intensity during the All-star game which would be kind of interesting to see.

Prospal is the man! You got my vote .

Hopefully, if they haven't already done so, the NFL bags the Pro Bowl.

The NBA All-Star game is nothing more than playground ball with no attempt on defense.

I guess ALL-Star games are ok for those who enjoy them, but to me I could care less.

And I get it, that with today's salaries no player wants to be hurt or hurt another in a meaningless exhibition.

I agree 100% with the bolded part
