If I am still in the game. Devastated not to make the playoffs everyone on this team not named Sedin or Weber are OTB, looking for grit in the top 6 and everywhere in the lineup for that matter.
Hey guys if you remember I had an issue with my toe last week. I have an appointment to get it fixed today and may have to push back work today if I go. Basically I may be getting home later tonight so I'm going to try my best to get the sim out tonight but I can't make any guarantees.

Why are you toeing with us?

Guys, that's immature and just wrong. The man is clearly having health issues and you're making a mockery of it.
on a side not, I was wondering if I could sign some guys out of retirement after the playoffs. Maybe Steffan Mattoe or Toe Domi. Lemme know man, my team needs some more vets.
Lol it's nothing terribly serious so I don't mind it.
But I'm an aside note I currently have 3 agents ready to go. I need at least 1 more but I want at least 2 more. If anyone outside this game is interested in helping out and being a player agent shoot me a pm and we can talk.

May I interest you in a team coached by Toe Blake?
I know we will have a certain amount of time to negotiate with our own players before FA starts. However, can we extend players who are currently still under contract?
For example, I have Corey Perry, scheduled to be a FA next offseason. Can I sign him to a long term deal this offseason or do I have to wait until the offseason he is scheduled to be a FA?
Also do we have to worry about handing out ELCs to drafted players or is that too in depth for this league?
I might consider an early retirement as GM (since I suck) to work with the league and players
See if you have a GM ready to take over, and I would switch jobs
EDIT: gonna work on the draft now
Nope you're staying in the role you currently are in. There really aren't that many administrative tasks that I need help with.

As of right now I'm inclined to say that to keep this as simple as possible that we can only negotiate with players in the offseason they're eligible to become a free agent. Teams are going to have about a week to negotiate with their own players do that should provide enough time to try to resign an impending UFA/RFA. I think it will just make things easier personally.
I'll come up with a base salary, like 1 mill a year for 1st rounders, 850k for 2nd, etc so that it's as simple as possible but you're probably just going to have to announce that a player has signed an elc so we can start counting the years. There most likely won't be any negotiating that will have to be done.

Cool that sounds good RKY. As far as contract sliding for ELCs, I assume since we are only simming NHL seasons that there will be no ELC sliding. Is that a good assumption? I just want to hammer out all the details before the offseason so I can discuss strategy in my team meetings in Vegas

What do you mean contract sliding?
All I can say is the 3 years will kick in once you decide to sign him.
