Oh look, another Parise (Pari$e for Devils fans)/Suter thread.

I don't care either way.
You know I kind of wish I could allow myself to like the Rangers lately. After reading that Rangers free agent frenzy thread and how they were really cheering for us, and how some of them were planning on getting Parise Wild 3rds to wear to our game @ NJ, I kinda like them.

But... Gaborik... *twitch*

Maybe it's just because people from Tennessee have a better upbringing than those from Joisey.

Yup. I would say it's entirely different cultures between Tennessee and New Jersey.

Some Devils fan asked why Wild fans were getting defensive about "Pari$e".

I must say, their team isn't going to be so good this year. Brodeur will keep regressing and they just lost their second-best player. They can ***** all they want because they'll need a lot of luck to retain their position in the East.

That fan should know after "suffering" through Lemaire too.

If you mean getting into the finals again? They'll need a complete and utter miracle.

Honest opinion, I won't be shocked if they just barely squeak into the playoffs. Their second best player (now) in Elias is getting older. Kovalchuk is likely past his prime as a top-10 player in the NHL, Broduer is old enough that he'll be coughing up dust mid-way through the season and seriously name one person on their D other than the oft-scratched Larsson...

I'm blown away that they got as far as they did last year, I'll be buying lottery tickets if they get in as anything higher than a 7-seed.

I've never been a huge fan of that team, but their plainly foolish fan-base has just pushed them past the Pens as my least favorite team in the NHL.

I wasn't including the playoffs, because as this year proved, anything can happen. If they get in the playoffs again they will only squeak by.

Honestly I would love to see it come down to the last day of the season and they are on the 8-seed bubble with another team or two and they miss out on the playoffs by one measly point.

And I agree with the fanbase part. I hate the Nucks mostly because of their fanbase (and '03 of course). NJ I have typically been somewhat neutral on, but I'm starting to outright hate the Devils now after the ridiculous rage and jealousy covered glasses that that whole group of fans has decided to wear.

Nashville I still like tho. I hope they do well in the future and I genuinely hope that Weber really means what he said about his agents talk being all BS. That fanbase DESERVES a good team.

Was only a matter of time really. Pretty sure any thread that veers into Wild vs Devils will end the same way.

But the point remains mostly valid. Their D is a mess of barely-names and no-names.

Salvadore? Andy Greene? I think they've got Volchenkov? There isn't a single one of their D-men that I want on my team (other than Larsson, which has been discussed), and that's when my team is lacking at least one experienced top-4 D.

I don't feel bad for Devils fans. They wouldn't have ownership issues if Newark wasn't so terrible and if they filled their arena.

And if they think they are going to come out of a division with the Rangers, Flyers, and Pens, they are crazy.

I just like to imagine them every time when they write it. Sticking their tongue out, watching down at the keyboard, holding down alt and shift or alt gr, looking for that little $ character.

Poll time: Most embarrassing fanbase this offseason?

1. New Jersey
2. Calgary
3. New Jersey

What's your pick?!

Not sure why Calgary would be embarrassed? They improved their team by adding a top six forward (although they also lost one so I guess they're about even in that department) and a top four d-man. Hudler's contract is decent and even though Wideman's is probably overpayment, it's really not all that terrible. Not sure that they'll make the playoffs, but they definitely won't be a lottery team like so many people think they will.
