Not sure that they'll make the playoffs, but they definitely won't be a lottery team like so many people think they will.
I couldn't think of any other team to put in there (you know, to make it seem like New Jersey MIGHT not win that poll) and I figured since Flames fans are convinced their roster is significantly better than ours, might as well throw em in.

I would agree that Calgary improved during the off-season.
One move that I didn't like was the loss of Jokinen. I have a feeling his presence will be felt pretty hard.

Fanbase, not team.
Gold medal to NJ. Leafs and Habs are always in contention. Rags fans have been surprisingly decent this summer.

this link from a couple months ago, pretty useful compilation of QoC, Corsi, and Offensive face-off % broken down for each team last season. I know a lot of people don't believe in those metrics
, but it's an interesting read, something to do to pass the time.

It's not a lack of "belief" in the metrics, it's that the stats don't mean the things the stat zealots think they do, and they're non-predictive.

And Gabby wearing #82. Not many numbers worn past 60 or so. Looks like every number has been worn from 2-49. Interest.

I'd like to watch them have sex, just because it would be so beautiful. Like two magical beings coming together. Just magnificent creatures.
