Ennis/Foligno

I'm a Toronto born Leafs fan who wanted to pop and discuss the most exciting new duo, in my opinion, in the National Hockey League.

I'm terribly jealous of these two. I watched Ennis look like Giroux last year and Foligno was a menace. Will they play together again this year? What do you see coming from them?

I didn't have the biggest sample size but theres hardly a player on our roster I would take over the combination of these two.

I see 70 pts for Ennis in the future.

Thoughts?

They'll start the year together along with Stafford. How long they stay together will pretty much be up to them. As long as they're productive Lindy will keep them together.

I'm excited about the duo but the insane production Marcus put up is sure to level off.

Foligno is the road grader they've needed for years now - simple, straight-ahead game and the size to go through rather than around his check. Will his production continue? I'd be surprised by that. Finish his checks, go hard to the net, get Ennis the puck to lug the mail... simple. But perhaps not easy.

These two certainly complement each other well and I hope that they can stick together. They won't produce at the same pace they did down the stretch last year (very few lines in the NHL can), but hopefully they can become a great secondary scoring line. Of course, this would require the Vanek or Pominville lines establishing themselves as a dangerous #1 line.

70 points for ennis is definately reachable. I think foligno will start the season strong and than level out but he could pick up a lot of points if he sticks with ennis and stafford

I bet that you're judging them based off of that one game vs. the Leafs last year. If that's how Foligno is going to try and play like every game, then they may as well start building a statue for him right now. They combined passion with speed and skill and a lot of luck to boot. Those two combined with Stafford made for an excellent line that almost lead us into the playoffs.

Almost.

Ennis has 70 point talent but who knows if he is driven to want that much success. If he doesn't aim for 80 he will never get 70.

Would be totally cool with that
Foligno's got great work ethic, as far as I can tell (you know, not being a coach or a fly on the wall in the lockerroom), and I think he will consistently be a physical factor even if his name isn't on the score sheet every game.

So since Ennis and Foligno are still young and will therefor only get better, we can project them reaching at least 130 apiece...

Ennis won't maintain that level over the course of the season but he can definitely duplicate it for different stretches throughout the season.

55, starts hot cools down as top defensive assignments get slid against the FES line then rebounding after the all star break when they adjust to playing against better competition. 25/30/55 70gp

I'd love to see him net 25g. I think the assists will rise, though, moreso than the goal total. Not really a ballsy prediction, I know...

i think he will be in the 50s points wise
i think we should expect him to miss a handful of games (~10)

At this time... (and my projections will most likely change once camp starts)

23-33-56 in 73 games
something like that

Sounds about right if he does miss about ten games

Im judging... partially on that game. I know Folignos game pretty well but the duo were dynamite in that one contest.

Ive liked Ennis for 3 years now.

Why should he miss games? He had a bad ankle sprain last year, thats all. Played every game as a smaller rookie.

That said I see 55-65 points next year, but would not be surprised to see him go into the 70's if Stafford and he really do have a great connection like everyone tells me they do.

Your average NHL regular lineup player misses 8 games a year. It's just probability.
