As per Kevin Allen of USA today, the Panthers are holding up the trade because of Nick Bjugstad. So we finally have a name in what Vancouver is trying to get back from Florida.
What would it take to land Bjugstad for the Canucks?

I doubt Florida gives up Jugs for almost anyone. The organization and its fans are very high on him and seemingly see him as their future #1 C to play alongside Huberdeau.

Anyway, does the article contain anything new? I literally did stop reading because it started with some nonsense over how Doan would be a nice fit in four different rosters. Because, you know, I'm sure he'd be a nice fit wherever teams can afford him. It's not rocket science.

Well barring our usual "deal killers", what would you want added? Most fans can guess at what we consider expendable, but in the same frame of mind, our Keslers, Sedins, Edlers and Schneiders are off the table, and we'd need more then prospects for contributors like Burrows, Higgins, Hansen, Bieksa and Hamhuis....and there goes our whole roster off the table.

So LA gets a franchise goalie and Canucks get a potential franchise forward, a beauty 30 goal scorer in Brown plus the added bonus of a shot at the tavares sweepstakes with Cloutier in net.

Proven or not doesnt really matter, what matter is not the past, but the expectation we have for a player.
I would rather have a unproven player i expect to play like a star, than a proven star i expect to decline and be average.
All that?...Quantity over quality I suppose...Ellerby, Howden, Upshall if he's willing, Kopeck if he isn't. We're right back to it.

Chicago would have top give us Bolland+ or a top 6 forward for Luongo. Gillis wouldn't give Chicago all their core members plus Luongo to play against us for 5+ years unless we get something significant back.
