What do you guys think of Erik Nyström's chances?

I assume he isn't favored to make the team, but is there any chance?

Pretty tough competition for the spots..

Zibanejad, Brodin are almost certainly in the NHL, and I guess Lindholm, Rakell are close too.

A first step is to make the Lake Placid squad, an important tournament.

Coach seems to like him, he had some praise for him after the U19 games last year.

People wanna make predictions(Lake Placid team)?
Rakell-Zibanejad-Åberg
Collberg-Karlsson-Forsberg
E.Lindholm-Rask-Lundberg
Boyce-LilleströmKarlsson-Görtz
Molin

Klefbom-Brodin
H.Lindholm-Vikstrand
Byström-Nilsson
Bengtsson

Dansk
Lundström

Wouldn't surprise if Zibanejad and Brodin won't be going to Lake Placid, in which case I'd add Nyström and Arnesson.

If the GK starter position in WJC would be dedicated to any keeper at this early stage, be it outspoken or not, there's something severely wrong.

Right now I would prefer Dansk. But it is like six months left so I guess we will see how their season will be until wjc

I'd say it's totally up for grabs. I favor Dansk a bit but at the same time he's a fair bit younger. Lundström will have an edge due to the fact that he will be easily scouted and also will be able to participate in the U20 tournaments mid-season. Can't write Ullmark off at this stage either.

Mika Zibanejad says he is fully recovered from a concussion he suffered in Binghamton in April. Plans to attend Sweden WJC camp in August.

That's nice if it happens. I remember last year they let A.Larsson and Landeskog focus on their NHL camps instead though. But Zibby didn't play a lot of games last year so it might be good to get going.

Hampus Lindholm is trying to take a spot with Anaheim already this season. Two of our best dmans might not play WJC: Lindholm & Brodin.

Said he was going over to Anaheim in August.. Swedish camp + Lake Placid is in August, so we'll see if he plays there first.

I'm pretty optimistic about both Lindholm, Ziba and Brodin being available.

Wild's got 5 at least, probably 6 defensemen that are locks. Ducks got 6 locks, with Vatanen and Smaby also vying for a spot.

With Ziba, there are only so many spots and Silfverberg's getting one of them, one of Stone and Ziba or perhaps even both is going to be in the minors..

Call me crazy but I don't think we need them to contend, although having one of Brodin/Lindholm would be nice..

Roster changes for the upcoming camp:

Jonas Brodin, David lillieström karlsson, Sebastian Collberg and Rickard Rakell wont attend.

Christian Djoos (Washington), Daniel Zaar (Columbus), Oscar Sundqvist (Pittsburgh) and Erik Karlsson (Carolina) added.

Interesting to see some youngsters get a chance, but Rakell and Brodin could've dominated in Lake Placid.

Zaar was apparently very good at the Columbus development camp. Surprised to see Zibanejad still on the roster, perhaps he won´t be going to Lake Placid with the other guys?
