This is a common belief, but we don't know what Tambellini was asking for. Nobody knows for sure if Tambellini was willing to move him for the best offer he got, maybe he wanted a third rounder and nobody wanted to bite.

I'd do all of Handzus, Drewiski, Schultz, Condra. Huge no to Olesz. Sulzer and Weber aren't likely to have enogh of an impact to make the deal worth while. I'd also ask about a guy like Marty Reasoner from the Isles.

He is pretty under-rated actually. The kid needs a chance and some PP time and he`s capable of getting 20 goals easily. Renney hated him, which was to bad because he was one the few players that wasn`t afraid of going into the corners. The knock on him was his defensive play. Learn that and you have a player folks.

He's an RFA who didn't sign his qualifying offer. Honestly, I'd just let him walk away, no need for anyone to give us anything. And I'd rather have the extra contract available than a plug like Sheppard, Handzus, Olesz, etc.

$2.5m, 1 year left on his contract. Problem is he has a full NMC, and we think he asked for it because he wants to stay in California.

If you guys get Jeff Schultz back he could entice his brother to sign there after he's done with Montreal.

Not a chance I'd trade Russell for Omark.

The Islanders just signed Carkner, who's going to be a very valuable bottom pairing defenseman. There's no way we trade him for Omark.

Smyth was one of our better pk'ers, and is much more valuable than Omark in almost every sense. Omark is faster and has better dangles, but Smyth is at least a legitimate NHL'er, Omark is not. And won't be. Rightfully so.

Last year was bad for Omark. He got injured early and never got back on track. If he still has an NHL dream his best option is to sign his qualifying offer, accept a demotion to the AHL and try to gain some scout interest with strong play down there. Or get picked up on waivers going down and secure a roster spot that way. He has top 6 NHL skill, no doubt. But he needs to add more dimensions to his game if he wants to stick in the NHL.

He has very little trade value. Sure he has his golden hands, but size is still a priority for GMs and Omark has none of it. Add to that the fact that he doesn't have elite speed to compensate, and that equals many GMs preferring to give their own kids a shot.

Shame, I do like the guy. I hope he works on his skating, defense and shooting and earns a real shot somewhere in the NHL. Preferably somewhere out east, if he improves on all three.

nothing from Ottawa, Omark is a bust...
EDIT: (Well tehnically not a bust since I would not consider anything drafted in the forth round a bust)

Not a chance you will get Joe Vitale for Linus ****ing Omark. He is perfect for the fourth line.

Too many decent grinders on this list who I would not trade for Omark. Fiddler, Abdelkader, Beagle, etc. Not to mention Josi being on this list.

Trade him for Jeff Schultz and the scour the hockey world for a player named "Ryan Schultz"

Then and only then will the rebuild be complete.
