Trade Proposals (Cal-Car-Tor-Was-Det-Van-Chi)

So there has been a a lot of action in the NHL 13 section of this forum on the new mode of GM Connected. Some trades have been made and I wanted to see what the majority here thought of them and if they would be plausible in the real world. Some have involved recently acquired players so try to look past that part.

Calgary - Carolina

Jay Bouwmeester
for
Alex Semin
Bobby Sanguinetti

Vancouver - Chicago

Roberto Loungo
Manny Malholtra
Mason Raymond
for
Marion Hossa
Dave Bolland

Toronto - Vancouver

Clarke MacArthur
for
Jannik Hansen

Toronto - Washington

JVR
for
Michal Neuvirth
Brooks Laich
3rd rounder

Toronto - Philadelphia

Phil Kessal
Jake Gardiner
Dion Phaneuf
Nazem Kadri
for
Claude Giroux
Nicklas Grossman
Zac Rinaldo
Erik Gustfsson

Toronto - Detroit
Cody Franson
3rd rounder
for
Dan Cleary
2nd rounder

These are different leagues so don't group them together.

I would do the Luongo deal. The Hansen deal looks right valuewise, but I wouldn't do it for cap reasons.

Seems like a horrible league to play in. The Toronto GM has already traded like half their team.

JVR must be incredibly overrated in NHL13.

Wow Philly makes out like bandits. I want to play in that league because that guy clearly has no idea what he's doing

Lol at the Toronto Philly trade.

Sure we end up with Giroux, all it costs us are our four most valuable assets.

I like the MacArthur / Hansen trade though. From what I understand Hansen plays a solid defensive game, we could slot him in nicely on the third line with McClement.

Why would Calgary make that trade? We don't need another winger....horrible to honest.

Ludicrously, unbelievably so.

And I'm one of the Hawk fans that actually wants Luongo.

Toronto guts the **** out of their team.

Lupul - Giroux - Kulemin
Laich - Grabovski - Frattin
McClement - Bozak - Hansen
Cleary - Steckel - Brown

Grossmann - Gunnarsson
Komisarek - Liles
Holzer - Gustafsson

Neuvirth
Reimer

Yikes.

My guess is the OP consolidated all of these into one thread so that we wouldn't have to laugh at them all individually...

That TML/PHI deal is so hilariously bad for Toronto.

The Calgary Carolina deal doesn't make sense, besides the fact that Semin has just signed with Carolina he's pretty much a rental at this point since its a one year deal, and there's no way that Calgary trades Bou for a rental, and based on the huge outflow of interest in Semin he's not that great of a rental.

Bobby Sanguinetti doesn't make up that difference

Honestly would rather the Canucks keep Hansen.

Under-appreciated defensive forward, +31 over the last 2 years on the Canucks 3rd line.

From a Wings standpoint, i would have no problem with that deal. The tor 2nd for det 3rd is useless as the wings 2nd will be later round and the leafs 3rd will be early. We have a glut of bottom 6 forwards amd need a dman. We get a nice dman with solid upside, and the leafs get a hard working serviceable 2nd(on a weaker squad)-3rd liner who works his ass off.
