Not sure if serious...

If you are then consider it done.

If you're not then nice troll on your part.

I actually hope Omark lands somewhere and can establish himself as an NHL'er and I think it could happen. However, it seems like all of the European posters think the Oilers are letting the next Marty St.Louis walk here...

He is creative and shifty but he is small and is pretty much terrible in his own zone. I would trade him for a lot of the bottom of the roster players mentioned here.

If We still had Gustaffson, or Kugryshev, then they fit this well
5th Rd Pick
+

Linus Omark
7th Rd Pick
How about we just drop the 7th from the Oilers and everything except the 5th from the Caps?

I`d do it from Edmonton`s side. He isn`t happy in the AHL and isn`t ready (or good enough) for the NHL. I`d take a conditional 7th for him to be honest, ha ha.

I believe I read in one of these translated articles that the deadline to accept his QO was extended to tonight or something. If he rejects it, he remains an RFA and Oilers property so he can't really do much.

Omark has got one unspectacular spin-o-rama shootout goal to his credit in the NHL, and that's about it. He's small and not especially effective on the ice, and he hasn't got the world's best attitude. At this stage of his career, he's an NHL/AHL tweener at best.

To the Capitals makes sense in that we would continue building our shootout juggernaut. Just build a wall around our net for all 60 minutes then win in the shootout. 82-0!

I say keep him, give the man a chance. He has 20+ goals written all over him maybe more with PP time.

Obviously not a lot of people posting have not seen him play ahl or nhl levels. Skilled, able to go into the dirty spots (and win over much bigger men), has a bit to learn defensively (which is why Renney didn`t like him) obviously.

check out his highlights vs Vancouver, now imagine if he could perform with some bigger linemates on the 2nd line.

Some oiler fans forget fast, when they have other prospects to dream about.
Omark isnt worth much but much more then some people think. Why bother to qualify him and even extend the deadline!? I think Oilers wants a second pick for him and that delays the deal, player for player isnt a option because it only give us a worse player back.Omark was on pace for 43 p his 1 st season, he drawed penaltys second on the team after Hall(30+ games played) and was the best oiler the last 12 games of the season +- and in points, first star 2 or 3 games. He isnt easy to fit in because he isnt a checking liner or a 4th. Omarks defence has strongly improved, but he are so offensive minded to create so he stays to long deep in the offensive zone so he comes behind in backchecking some times. With prv its the opposite he seems scared to get busted so he are almost on his way home before getting in to offensive zone. A mix of both would be perfect but can be fixed with right linemates and development. The team who takes on omark takes no risk if giving up a 3-4 pick and in return can improve their pp and keeping the puck in offensive zone longer. His second season isnt much to evaluate he made the team, got 5 games with stonehand belanger and a stonecold prv then sent down got footinjured, went to team sweden and hit the mononukleos. I think the guy has it, to take a regular spot in the Nhl hes has the drive, skills and confident to do so.

Thats pretty debatable. In his rookie season Omark outshot the opposition, and last year was too short of a sample size to really matter. When put in an offensive role he produced, and his defensive shortcomings are greatly exaggerated. At the end of the day Omark is an NHLer in the right place, Edmonton just has too much smaller high end skill to accomodate him. He's a dominant player in the AHL, and has had many flashes of highend ability in the NHL. If you think that shootout goal is his only highlight reel play in the NHL, you haven't been paying attention. Also Omark is small, but he is very tough on the puck. Guys can knock him off it taking a run at him, but in the corners when things are in much tighter confines it's amazing how he can protect the puck from a guy much bigger.

Don't get me wrong there is still some work to do with this player, but given a chance i see him as Ville Leino 2.0 or better. This is a player who flashes significant ability at times.
