Where are the moderators? This thread has been hijacked by Tampa fans complaining about Matt Carle, whoever that is, apparently Yzerman signed him.

I don't know what this Gretzky Ratio you speak of is. I think you should use Claude Giroux Adjusted points though.

One of my favorite threads ever from the main board.

Now, if both Carle and Suter leave Philadelphia one hour apart on their way to Los Angeles (2383 miles), with Carle going at 28 mph and Suter going at 41 mph, and Carle loses a puck every 13.6 miles but notches 2 assists for every state he passes through, and Suter earns $10,182 per odd 10-mile stretch he completes without giving up an even-strength goal (frequency 0.28 of total goals allowed by Nashville), what will Carle's +/- be over a full 82-game schedule if he is consistently paired with a one-eyed all-star-calibre defenseman with a projected Corsi of 47.6 and an AAV of $3.86 million over 5 years?

The answer was "Christ Pronger's elbow", but I also would have accepted "potato". You guys weren't even trying.

I've got to find a smarter board!

I tried to flip to the last page of the forum to find the answer, but they only had solutions to offense-related questions.

My mistake I was lead to believe that the one eyed defensmens projected Corsi was 47.6 and that Carle's +/- was pi. But now I have seen that the AAV is 3.86 so clearly the answer is "Chris Pronger's Elbow".

Emmerick and Pierre were on trying to tout how water polo is like hockey.

Maguire is just lucky he didn't drown trying to get "in the game" comments from players and coaches.

So they're pretty much delayed the same amount?

It is kinda weird MAB hasnt signed yet. Gotta think the concussion thing might be a bigger problem. Or he is in trade talks (as part of a package).

Hes the only RFA not signed yet...

That reminds me of a practical joke I played on my pre-teenage son. We were installing software and I was checking out the service agreement (yes, I am that anal retentive). The characters for one of the languages -- probably Chinese -- weren't translating into anything but dots. I said to him, "That's pretty neat. They even included Braille. Touch it." And he actually put his fingers on the computer screen before it sank in.

I have to think he's fighting for a 1 way deal. Rather let him go than give him that though.

I could see Holmgren playing hardball if MAB's agent dug in his heels over a 1-way contract. I like his chances to stick with the big club, particularly since he'd have to pass through waivers, but principles are principles. And if there's still any lingering concussion issues, Holmgren would be right to play things conservatively.

after the Flyers signed Gervais he may not be happy. He knows that there could be 4 players competing for the #6 spot. I am not saying he wants a spot handed to him, but he very well could be weighing his options.
i dont know, I am probably wrong. Its been boring lately. I am just speculating.

JVR is quickly becoming one of the most overrated players on here..

'JVR has always been impressive. Philly just used him wrong'
'He will be a lock to score 40 goals and 40 assists'
'He gives us a possible physical playmaking center to our top line'

No. No. No.

He is a Leaf player now. Magically and instantly turned into a superstar or budding superstar.
