You know as well as anyone if Doan signs, there will be at least 4 separate threads on it. If he signs with the habs at least 10 threads.

That's assuming a healthy line-up. There is no doubt we will still be seeing quite a bit from the kids.

Not like we have three GDTs to get to this week. Off-season is slow and with Doan, as well as a few other UFAs still on board that some have made arguments for and against, there's still some juice left in the tank.

As far as Doan goes... time to settle?

There really isn't anything else going on, you guys should leave it till Doan locks up somewhere. Nobody wants a half dozen off-topic posts....

I like the Arabic numerals in the thread title.

I just glaze over Roman Numerals and default to a lot. The Super Bowl is a good example ... Takes me a minute to figure it out now on the posters ... Good thing we have tv.

What would you do if you were a young, famous millionaire in a city known for having the most beautiful women?

I'd take Kostitsyn back. Say what you want, but he's good for 20 goals and thunderous hits.

well, if Doan isn't an option (for whatever reason), what do you guys think of Sykora? Decent size, cup winner, 20+ goals, might settle on a one year deal for not too much, possible Czech connection with Pleks....

I'd welcome Kostitsyn back to the line-up. He already has proven chemistry with Eller and Moen on a third line, that would leave Prust/White/Armstrong as our energy line. Me gusta. Unfortunately, Bourque will have to play on Plekanec' RW with Gionta on the left, but maybe the return of captain Gio will provide some spark and/or chemistry with Bork. All I know is that having AK46 as a depth scoring-winger will do nothing but benefit him and the team in general. We'll effectively have two second lines.

Because he's good for 20G and he's a better winger for Eller than Armstrong, Moen, Prust or White.

But why are people talking about it when we know it's not going to happen?I mean, I'd like Datsyuk too but not talking about it since it won't happen. Well same for Kosty. Not with the direction Bergevin is headed. Not after what we had with him. Not after what happened in the playoffs even if it was blown out of proportion thanks to a stupid Preds team etc....We're still allowed to think he'd be better....but I just hope nobody really expect this to happen....

Whitesnake, it's July 31st man. Hockey is absolutely dead. There isn't much to talk about..
Doan and AK are the two most skilled free agents available at the moment. There's nobody else. So people will speak of them.
I don't think anybody here actually thinks AK is coming back.

What are you talking about?
Bourque is a LW and Gionta a RW

There is some names that I don't see mentioned often that could still be hired to help the depth and play alongside Eller.

Eric Fehr, Radek Dvorak, Jason Arnott, Brian Rolston, Mike Knuble, Andrew Brunette, Gilbert Brule.

Alot of thoses guys are pretty old but some couls still have one good year especially playing in a depth verteran role on a one year deal I don't much risk.

Also to help the depth there is still Tom Kostopoulos and Dominic Moore and Brad Winchester.

I would also like to see what Byron Bitz could give to a team that give him a total season in the NHL.

All small cap hits and no risk at all on one year deal I could see Bergevin sign one of theses guys to help the depth if Doan and or Kostitsyn (who's know ?) aren't signed here.

I wouldn't mind Sykora on a 1-2 year deal. He can score 20, and is a decent top-9 forward(top-6 the way its looking). He would be more of a plug until guys like Gallagher, Leblanc, etc. are ready for top lines.

Doan is still unsigned by the way. PK too. Even if he's a RFA, he hasn't signed any offer sheet so I guess that's because no team is interested in him.

Hey, the new CBA is not signed yet. Is that a good indicator that a lock-out is coming?

Doan came out and said he wasn't signing yet, pretty silly example.
PK is RFA not UFA, big difference, look it up.

Calm down people, this is what you sound like, just replace Brittany with Andrei

What is with this new mentality of "X player hasn't signed anything yet so obviously no team is interested?"

For all we know, Subban could have received 5 different offer sheets. Things like that DO NOT GET REPORTED by the mass media unless he actually signs. THEN it's breaking news. Doan could very well be talking with 10-15 teams. We don't know anything because that kind of stuff rarely gets reported.
