Barca was great, Lillehammer for the great atmosphere and Sydney for me too.

That was crazy. Wonder how many times he practiced that shot so he wouldn't miss and light the fans on fire.

Any idea at what part of the opening ceremony the Lillehammer one was? The only thing I can find is the full 2 hours and I don't have time to watch it all

Definitely Calgary. I was 7 years old at the time, so it was the first Olympics I can remember - and it was so exciting it being in Canada and all. They had a 12 year old light the cauldron...and I was very impressed and jealous of her!

I guess it wasn't the most spectacular lighting ever...but it's still my very favourite.

It's not as spectacular as Barca, but the small size of the ceremony in general and the cozy atmosphere made it special for me.

Thanks for sharing. Cozy is the right word for that. I remember watching parts of those games in 2nd grade

It was Wayne's torch that suffered the mechanical failure, right? Can't recall.

Ah, alright.

Even still, it wasn't exactly the most inspirational lighting....wasn't Wayne escorted on the back of a pickup truck or something? There was rain as well, but that couldn't be helped. Made for a very dour-looking Great One, and a great photo op.
