Calgary-Detroit

I'm not a fan of either team, but I think this deal could be interesting for both sides.

This has been discussed lots between our fan bases over the last day and a bit. Personally, I like the concept of it, but I'd want more and ideally we would need a dman coming back.

What I would propose is to include Backlund and ask for Quincey to be added.

I like it for both sides as a pure hockey trade despite hating both teams involved.

I think it's fair for both teams.

Bouwmeester would do well with the Wings.

Detroit doesn't really have room for Backlund. We already have more than enough bottom 6 F's, we may have to even waive some of them.

Nope, we're not moving filppula for jbo, if you guys want SJ overpayment keep him. We'll he may fit in well here I'm not willing to overpay for him and Wat h it blow up in out face. I would offer Quincey+2nd+b level prospect for jbo and that's it.

Wouldnt the wings want a centre back? Feaster sends Stajan.

JayBo and Stajan for Flip and Quincey

well, at least Backlund is from Vasteras, Swe. I know one more hockey player from there.

Filpulla is probably the best the Flames could expect for Bouwmeester. I think the deal would make them a worse team though, so I don't know if they do it. I still think Feaster is only having Bouwmeester talks in hope that somebody gives him a ridiculous overpayment for him.

Babcock has already commented that he likes Backlund and thinks he's a good player. I think the Wings could be very interested in that deal.

Franzen - Datsyuk - Nyquist
Samuelsson - Zetterberg - Brunner

That is a whole lot of unproven / iffy players on the 2nd line. I'd hesitate to move Filppula until we know if Smith / Kindl can do the job on the back end.

One of those unproven players are in top 10 for goals in play-offs over the last 10 years. Guess who?

Hint: not Zetterverg.

I think i'd make that deal. Hurts to lose Backlund, but he would do well with the Wings I think. If he developes in the the 2-way 2nd line center he is supposed to be then Detroit gets a great deal.

Filppula can be replaced by Nyquist without a doubt in my mind.

Jbo logs upwards to 27-30 minutes a night against top talent. He would make more of an impact for us then Filppula, not to mention we would fix a hole while not really creating a hole.

Let's remember folks, Detroit traded a 1st for Quincey, so ya, let's give him up for Stajan..... right.. Bouwmeester straight up for Filppula isn't too bad, think I'd rather keep him though.

Whats your opinion of Jbo, Backlund for Filppula and Quincey?
