Final Standings:

1. Bergeron
2. Chara
3. Seguin
4. Lucic
5. Seidenberg
6. Ference
7. Marchand
8. Rask
9. Krejci
10. McQuaid
11. Boychuk
12. Hamilton
13. Peverley
14. Horton
15. Kelly
16. Thornton
17. Spooner
18. Knight
19. Khudobin
20. Khokhlachev
21. Paille
22. Campbell
23. Subban
24. Caron
25. Rolston
26. Krug
27. Zanon
28. Mottau
29. Corvo
30. Thomas

Khokhlachev beating out guys like Campbell and Paille just seems wrong to me.

It would have also been interesting to see where Savard ended up.

Both Mcquiad and Khudobin both finished a lot higher than I thought they would.

Must be the mullet with Quiader.

Damn it all. I thought for sure we'd have a second thread for this.

Without Chara this team would be in shambles.

So McQuaid beating the piss out of Raffi Torres (and, admittedly, a lot of others) gives him the 10 spot? Then why is Thornton at 16 and Stanley Cup heroes Rich Peverley, Nathan Horton, and Chris Kelly at 13, 14, and 15 respectively?

Not hating on McQuaid, #10 just seems really, really high for a #6 defenseman.

Not a fan of McQuaid myself. I would gladly have opted to keep Zanon over him.

Unlike most other players on this team, McQuaid has amassed his +46 over the last 2 years (in only 14+ minutes per) pretty much Chara-less.

He's underrated.

And completely deserving of his 10th place finish.

I agree, he's under rated and an important part of the team. I just find it crazy Bergeron won over Chara, it's like voting David Backes over Shay Weber.

Either way I'll take a top 3 defenseman in the league that leads both on and off the ice over a 60 point two-way center. Not to say Bergeron isn't important I just think Chara is way more valuable.

Timing. This game started maybe a couple weeks at most after Thomas announced he wasn't playing this year.

Put a few years behind us and we'll remember the good times and not so much how it ended. Put a few decades behind us and he'll just be the right wing hockey version of Spaceman Lee.

I agree. I think momentum had something to do with this as well. I was voting for Chara in the beginning, but once there were only 2 players left and Bergeron had better than a 2:1 lead over Chara, I started voted for Bergy to end it quicker.

I bet a poll would have them being very close if not have Chara ahead. And a point game with only these 2 players could have Chara winning as well. He's the best and most valuable player on the team.

Bergeron is more of an everyman compared to the towering Chara and he did score the game winner.

(granted in a 4-0 game so not quite Orr in OT)

Plus hes one damn handsome gentleman.

Zanon's a perfect bottom pairing d-man. I don't have the same level of faith in McQuaid.
