I tried on the new Warrior Krown and that thing is on the heavier end AND seems like it has tons of padding that would make it hot. I was getting warm with it on in the store. I do like the weight of the Eastons although the fit still isn't there for me. The M11 is still the only helmet that fits really well but it's a bit heavier and warmer on the ice.

Re: current gear, just picked up a blade with Ovy's pro curve (CCM Crazy Curve) for fun, and used it for the first time yesterday. Really enjoyed stick handling with it, great for saucer passes too. Shooting was hit and miss, when I really shot properly my shots were excellent, crazy hard, but when my technique slipped the shots suffered a lot more than they would with other curves, it's not very forgiving. I was shooting by far the best when I shot from the mid/heel area and really cupped the puck, as I would with a Drury type curve. Despite shooting high and/or wide a tonne, the shots were so good when I did shoot properly that I'm looking forward to using it more, I feel like this might be the perfect curve for me once I really get my mechanics dialed in with it.

For me the shots were fluttering unless I shot from the mid and used a serious heel to toe action rather than a snap shot. Ridiculous power on them when they worked. Nobody's biting on my Crazy Ovi stick so I'm thinking about chopping off the blade for a backup shaft.

Miken was kind enough to give me and the other folks that attended ModSquadHockey's SummerJam event a free Zero Limit (their new stick). Honestly (I'm not just saying this because it was free) I like it better than my APX. Probably my favorite stick of all time.

I was thinking of getting an RBZ once they were released, but having tried it, I really wasn't a fan.

i was trying to decided between the nexus 1000 and zl(when they are released to the general public in september), and was already leaning towards the zl due to the sr. 70 flex offering. but the overwhelming positive reviews like yours and others at sj have swayed me to wait for the zl. thanks.

I find the balance to be superior to all my other sticks (APX, A.i.9, EQ50/X60 2pc), and I like the way it loads for shooting. It sounds cliched, but it really feels good, moreso than any other stick I've used.

I realize I kind of sound like a shill, so I'll say that I really didn't like Miken's glove offerings. Far too snug and they didn't seem to fit true to size.

My current collection.. mostly stuff that I collected over the past year, I got em mostly for a steal and pretty pleased with myself, especially the white 20K

Sticks (believe it or not, the most expensive one is the 20K for $185 shipping included)
Reebok 20K
Bauer APX Grip & Non-grip (gonna sell the grip version)
Easton Mako
Bauer TotalOne LE2 (selling)
Bauer TotalOne NXG (also selling)
Reebok Ai9 (got this from a bud who had to move abroad)

Skates
Reebok 20K White (got this for $420 brand new from sweden)
Reebok 20K (got this a few weeks ago for $350 on ebay, will be sold )
Bauer Vapor X7.0 (my bud's but he's selling this one)
Bauer Vapor X2.0 (my old skates)
Bauer Supreme One20 (also my old skates)
Mission Commander SE (bought this for $100 barely used)
Tour Thor 909 (my recreational skate, got em last week for $40 barely used)

Protectives
Reebok 3K Shoulder Pads, Elbows, Pants
Easton Stealth S3 Shin Guards (will break soon )
Reebok 6K Helmet (clearance last year)
2 pairs of Reebok 8K Gloves
Warrior Franchise Gloves (got em used for $80 to resell)
CCM U+Crazy Light Elbow pads ($40 and for resale)
2 Oakley Pro Stock visors
Bauer Supreme One40 Shoulder Pads (i bought it for $25 on ebay mint, but nobody wants it lol)

Well, that's about it! As you can see, I love collecting and since hockey gears are scarce where i live, they sell pretty well thus enabling me to try a variety of other brands

Didn't lose as much weight as I hoped this offseason, so I'm sticking with my summer gear:

Helmet: Cascade M11 w/ Bauer 9900 cage
Shoulder: Sherwood 9950
Elbows: Jofa/RBK 7k PRO
Gloves: Warrior Koncept '11
Pants: Reebok 5k
Shins: Reebok 6k
Skates: Graf G35
Sticks: Warrior Diablo 70 flex Kopitar

Eventually it would be nice to get back into my Tackla 9000 pants and Reebok 4k shoulders.

my buddy went to that skate. Recently broke his zero limit twig in fact, but that thing was awesome while it lasted.
