Edmonton has 7.25m tied up in 2 goalies. Unless it's a clear upgrade, I don't see them doing much.

Tampa, Columbus and Toronto could all be valid options.

I see a two way contract in his future. I think he'd be perfect in Carolina, where Peters isn't very good and Huet could take the backup role while Peters gets more time.

EDIT: Forgot Boucher was there. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.

Its not Luongo vs Huet

Its (Luongo - minus the asset traded to acquire him - minus the pay cut needed to get him under the cap) vs Huet.

Seen this way, Huet is definitely an interesting option vs Luongo.

If Roloson retires, Tampa may be a good fit.

Huet will be 37 years old shortly and quite frankly stunk when he was in the NHL 2 years ago with a ghastly .895 save %. He's most likely done.

Huet was ECHL caliber on a stacked cup team ,, He got what he deserved as he wasn't an NHL goalie

I'd gladly give him a tryout in Winnipeg. He can't be any worse than Montoya.

for the two games every other season that he's healthy to play?

What was it 2 offseasons ago when the NYI had like 5 goalies who were all capable of being NHL goalies on their roster? Maybe they'll do the same again and try and get Huet

Hence why I posted what I did. Context is everything.

Huet is awful. No team should be looking to sign him to an NHL contract. Long done.

Welcome back.

I hope he gets that tryout somewhere. No risk involved. If he's no good in his showing, cut him - he'll find work in Europe at the very worst. Besides one down year with the Hawks, Huet had a good NHL career. But this is HF, and "what have you done for me lately?" is the thing around here.

One of the classiest and honest worker ever, I really hope he finds a spot. I'm sure he's going to have a great impact with his new team. It was a shame to see him leave 2 years ago.

His down year was horrendous ,, One of the worst performances of a Hawks goaltending in longtime

Great at helping Montreal secure a lottery pick? Yes. Not much else though.

I'd love to have him as a backup for Schneider.

The guy only got such a bad rep because of how much his contract was worth compared to his play. Give him $1M and I'll take him.

Sounds good to me. The Leaf's should hurry up and sign Huet for $1M, and then trade him straight up for Loungo.
