Agreed.

Hey at least we got something to cheer about in this otherwise (almost) empty off-season. Gotta love those fist pumps lol

i can see holmgren being one of those g.m's that gets behind the bench again (like he's back in hartford) if it don't go right midseason.

I don't get all the doom and gloom and why people want Laviolette gone. He's done a fantastic job with a roster that was decimated by injuries and worked seven rookies and various new players into the lineup and kept this team competitive. For two years in a row, they bowed out in the second round. The first year, they faced a stacked Boston team that eventually won the Stanley Cup. This past year, they were decimated by injuries when they faced the Devils. Even if they would have played picture perfect defense, there was no way they would have beat the Devils simply because of the amount of injuries they had.

I'm personally a big fan of Laviolette's and he is exactly the type of coach that this team needs at this time. He has a great rapport with the younger players and more important, everyone on the team really likes playing for him. Now that the rookies have a full season under their belts, I think that this will be the year that the attention to fine details will be emphasized. This is a good club and the Flyers have the right guy leading the group.

Assuming he finishes the season with us, Laviolette will move into 3rd all-time in games coached in club history (behind Shero and Keenan), and 3rd all-time in wins (Shero and Keenan again). Crazy how short-lived coaches are, but that's part of the game.

It seems like Murray was here forever. That is surprising.
