If you watched the games you would know they were bs.
Nick?

It's nice to see that stupidity isn't exclusive to Ottawa beat writers.

Not sure about stupidity, but ignorance certainly comes to mind. A lot in inaccuracies, but that was mostly from the first section. I didn't read anything after that (yet).

The answer to that question is "when the Jackets quit bringing misery on themselves."

Well that was a pretty nasty blog, and one from a blogger Ive never heard of before.

But it seems Nick does not share his point of view. nor does good Ottawa boy. Adrian Aucoin.

I hope Foligno does really well for you guys. I must say, I am sad to see him leave Ottawa. As others have probably pointed out, Foligno will give his all every night and he will be a good leader for you guys. I get the impression he was very good in the dressing room for Ottawa, and was well liked by his teammates. I hope he can be a consistent top 6 guy for Columbus, but at this point he's kind of a tweener. Not consistent enough to be an every day top 6 guy as he tends to go into stretches were the offence dries up. The effort will always be there, but I'm sure some nights you will find yourself yelling at your tv set and wonder why Nick didn't bury that one, or why he's trying to beat 3 defenders by himself. You got yourself a good player though.

Good luck in the upcoming season.

Nordique..

i certainly see what Howson's intent is: In the past cupla years he has Umberger(2yrs ago) and Dorsett(last yr) really playing gritty hockey. Follow the puck into the corners, check and grind.

We've added Foligno, Dubinsky Anisimov and a healthy Cam Atkinson that will also get in their and do the dirty work. Maybe Brassard & Ryjo will follow by example?

I expect upgraded forward play, not because they are skilled players necessarily but because our defense should put the puck on the tape on breakouts, and on net when they shoot.

We have not had a history of dmen that could get the puck on net in the past.

The irony is, this team feels to me like a Hitchcock team, and Foligno is the epitemy of that model. Solid defense with scoring ability paired with physical, two way skaters can make a steady habit of winning ugly. This group has the potential to suprise alot of hockey fans, if one of these goalies can rise to the challenge and give us some competent net minding. I still feel 6th-10th is a realisitc expecation for this group.
