I have a feeling that if Nashville matches, Philly will look into Bouw and pursue him.

Those firsts don't mean **** since they'll be very late.

I'll be very surprised if Nashville doesn't match.

Yeah, if that was Nashville's asking price, not surprised they got an offer sheet in return.

Detroit still needs a minute-eating Dman too

Even better. Start a bidding war for Jbo.

I want a massive return for him.

It's going to be magical if Bouw gets dealt, like the return. So many of these Fanboy know-it-alls on these Hockey forums make it seem like Bouwmeester is 100% useless. While I'm not a fan of him myself, I do know his merit... and have watched him play enough to know that if he gets dealt, something nice is coming back the other way.

I want to watch the backpedaling these kids do when those offers they suggest (these deals where Calgary adds to get an okay player; a la St.Louis fans who are like "Cole for Bouw + 2nd") end up being so far off from what we get for this guy. While I know he's not worth a first line center on his own, I don't think the value is too far off... because on most teams, this guy is on the first pairing (if not all teams after the Preds coming apart here).

It will be interesting... Also will be amazingly funny to see the emergency damage control being done on all fronts.

I'm hoping the Preds let Weber become a Flyer. The Preds took three games from the Flames last year, so with the loss of Weber to the East, this helps the Flames out.

Lot of gms are saying preds don't have the funds for the front end of that deal. But philly might trade to get some of those picks back from the preds.

And now can't be traded for a year either.

Too bad, I wanted Nashville to get weaker.

It's nice to see the Predators match the Weber offer, I thought they would be unable to match the signing bonus terms.

They've already lost Suter and Hamhuis to FA in the last 3 seasons, losing Weber too would have been rough to see as an NHL fan regardless if it could have improved our/the Flames' position in the conference. But outside of being a goalie factory, they've also really become a defense factory with Josi, Ellis, and Blum all possibly ready to step out their game next season, and with Ekholm and Roussel waiting in the wings. Added to the homegrown likes of Weber, Suter, Hamhuis, Klein.

They sure know how to draft D.

I think the Preds need to change their cultural approach. When your homegrown guys frequently jump ship like that, you're not asking the right questions from an organizational stand point. After the run they made, it's clearly not about winning or cup chances for these players, especially when they go to Minny and the KHL. It's about atmosphere.

If Doan gets his desired contract this year Iginla will get 10+ million http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=401580 How can anyone justify paying Doan 7.5 million?

Aside from a 1-year deal, that would be ludacris for any organization to give him that kind of deal on a multi year contract. Hopefully Van signs him to a 5yr deal at 7 million per.

Yeah, it's funny. I get the feeling that the rumored offer for Doan about a week ago (of this $7.5m / 4 years) wasn't an actual offer but something thrown out by Doan's agent to see who is really willing to pay up.

$7.5m for Doan up until he's 40 (or close enough) is insane though. Unless there is a significant salary rollback which I figure the players will fight til the end this CBA negotiation.

TSN posted Doan is seeking a 4yr 30million dollar deal if he leaves Phoenix. I would never pay that for Doan, not even close. I don't even think I'd give Iggy that after this season.

Doan should get a 3-4yr deal between 4.5-5mil per with NMC.

Doan is the biggest hypocrite ever. He slams the idea of moving to Winnipeg because of family and climate etc and states he wants to stay in Phoenix likely for the remainder of his career. Now? He'll leave Phoenix barring a massive over payment.

He was also pissed at Brown for a "cheap shot" and yet he intentionally elbowed Benn in the head the man is a ****** I don't want him on this team especially at that cap hit.

Oilers fan here. Looking forward to the Flames-Oilers season series this year! We went 0-4 to start last year and then won the last 2. Hopefully we'll be able to keep the streak going and finally win the BOA this year.

Anyways, talk to you later.
