I think it's fairly clear who the 11th and 12th prospects will be, just a matter of who gets more votes.
I think even through 12 there are some interesting guys with question marks.
Once to get beyond that there is a pretty significant drop, but that's to be expected. I don't think it's reasonable to expect our 15th best prospect to be a blue chipper.
Gonna go with McColgan here. I was really high going into that draft on him and was amazed when he fell to us in the 5th round. Would have easily gone in the top 20 if he wasn't 5'8", IMO.

In the top 10, we had 7 guys make it. In the next 10 it was 2 and in the final 10 it was 3. A few others (Bourque, Werek, Grachev, maybe Sanguinetti) may still make it. So it's at least a dozen people, maybe 13-14. That won't happen this time. I think realistically speaking, we'll get 3-4 forwards and 1-2 defensemen from this bunch.

For sure. I think after 7 we have guys with significant question marks. Frankly, Skjei and Thomas should probably even be flipped.
I am glad, though, that we have a nice group of 5-7 guys. More than most teams can say.

Realistically, Hagelin played 1 less game than the requirement. He was on the NHL team for 3/4 of the season. It's really hard for me to even have him on the list. Besides that, I agree. Thomas might be too high. I prefer Fast over him and Skjei at this point, but the injury made me sway my votes.
I personally think St. Croix and Yogan have a good shot (around 50% chance) to be NHL regulars, but I don't know how effective they'll be.

Because prospects are like stocks, they rise and they fall.
Follow prospects long enough and you'll have a list of guys who shock with you how well they turn out, as well as guys who amaze you with how flat they fell.

His size is not his biggest concern these days, nor was it then.
After the next two, I think Spelling has some potential to be an NHLer. He will be playing in the SEL at age 19 is nothing to scoff at. It would be really nice if he was another potential diamond in the rough, late round pick (a la Fast).
Andersson seemed like a good pick at the time. He has the size, skating, passing and positioning, but his game is advertised as being non-flashy. I hope he makes Färjestad soon and I think he may get a shot if Brodin/Klefbom move to NA.
Some others have greater potential, but appear to be further off.
Barring injury Noreau and maybe Ceresnak (pls add to poll) should be here w/in 2 years [not much before, hopefully not much later]
Guesstimating threshold of overall potential, maximum potential, and how close they are to showing that potential, I said Noreau.
Most of the others are ok where they are at, but they have a long way to go, and they are not like Brady Skjei, where even though they have that much farther to go, they have way higher upside potential.
Andersson from what I've read anyway needs to work on his defense. He has very good offensive instincts. His dad was somewhat the same way and he was never quite good enough positionally to solidify himself as an NHL defenseman. He was a close but no cigar. Calle at the moment seems to be a chip off the old block. The talent seems to be there though. He just needs to refine his game to the position he plays.

McD was new in the org and very few had seen him.
I do think us underrating him says more about MTL then us fans. Like why would MTL trade us someone that good for Gomez? It would have been logical for us to put him like 35th overall...
I can only speak for myself, but I was very skeptical of him untill I saw him.
