Sabres. Just horrible spending, like the old Ranger teams. If Miller could cover all of their mistakes he would have done it last season. Myers and Ennis had huge setbacks.
Ottawa is the same team that made the playoffs. NJ is less one significant player, but that hasn't hurt the team in 18 years... you can't just slot them in for a huge drop in standings because on paper it might suggest that.
Maybe Florida, some of their players had big, unexpected years. I still think they get Luongo for a song.
I think people are forgetting about how over the moon Senators fans were that they even made the playoffs. They overachieved more than the Panthers did.
NJ lost their captain, has a 41 year old goalie, and an average defense. I also see Kovalchuk finishing with about 70-75 points, a slight downgrade from last year.

Sabres were one of the most injured teams last year and only missed by 3 points. Ennis had two separate injuries and still played great when he was healthy down the stretch. They may not be a cup contender but they're certainly a playoff team.
they have more than just myers and miller. but i agree...they arent that great of a team...i think they'll be in the 9-10 range.
Miller is more of a concern than the defensive corps. Myers was the team's 4th or 5th best dman last year, far away from Sekera and Ehrhoff. Miller started so terribly last season and we never recovered. We don't have enough talent up front, too young and unproven down the middle. But we should be in the hunt for 8th
