I could technically do game 7 of the last series now but I want there to be some suspense.

Game seven results will be announced tomorrow and the conference finals begin on Friday.

GAME 7 The two powerplay powerhouses go head to head in a one-game winner take all!

vs.

MORE TALENT VS. BETTER TOP END TALENT

One goal was the difference in each of the first five games of the series but in Game 6 the Sharks surged to a 5-1 win to send the series to a final, deciding game 7.

The Bertuzzi series is proving to be a real battle. This may be the series of the western conference this entire playoffs. Detroit has been a top team all season with Daysyuk, Zetterberg, Kovalchuk, Lidstrom and Howard. San Jose has gotten stronger and stronger through trades all season. Thornton, Havlat, Nash, Markov and Tanguay started the season in San Jose and added were St. Louis, Visnovsky, Selanne, not to mention supporting veterans in Bertuzzi, Ponikarovsky, Ference, Hannan. There were rumours that Niemi might be traded for a higher rated goalie but it didn't materialize and Niemi is expected to outduel Howard in the deciding game.

Tough end to the season for the Bruins. Looks like changes will need to be made after a disappointing exit.

Game 7 went to overtime in a goalie duel.

Credit to San Jose and Detroit on probably the best series of the playoffs to this point. An absolute joy to see unfold.

Nice job on advancing, DET. SJ, man, that was a heartbreaker.

* The Bertuzzi Series was a classic Sharks playoff game, long on anticipation and effort but a little short on results in the end.

* Selanne had 8 goals to lead the league in the playoffs to date.
* Visnovsky was 2nd in league assists
* both of those players were acquired from Anaheim in a three-way deal motivated by the Ducks desire to shop Selanne and get young Foligno and Cowen.
* Anaheim might have beaten Chicago if he hadn't done that trade, be in at least the conference finals.
* I wanted to upgrade the goaltending and feared it would be the team's undoing. Niemi is not rated high despite having won the cup two years ago. Maybe I should have tried to get Thomas out of Boston, given the team has carried two elite rated goalies this season despite no need because there was no backup games, no injury or tiredness needs to play a second goalie.

Hold on a sec... now I may drunk, but that feels dangerously close to an insult coming from a rival that made it no further in the playoffs than us fine folks in Anaheim. Just because I made the conscious decision that my team was not going to win this year with Pitt acquiring Parise as a rental, does not mean I made a mistake. Would I have liked to win of course, but trades were made that made that impossible.

I understand how San Jose may be disappointed, but all of us in Anaheim are very happy with the direction of this organization. Oh and there has been news that Anaheim may have recently been in talks with Ottawa.

Like I was saying, those overpaid underachievers in San Jose (although much respect to the poached veterans like Selanne and St. Louis) are just a level below the greatest defenseman of his era and the smartest, most fundamentally sound player in the game today.

Classic Conference Finals match-up. Red Wings and Hawks. Nice not to have to play Anaheim, but the Hawks have a lot of offensive talent. One of the best top 4 forward groups in the league.

The Red Wings are planning to score a lot of goals, however, as they have most of the season.

It figures the Wings' road to the Finals is so much tougher than Pittsburgh's, though the Ice Chickens also lucked out not having to face Boston. Detroit, after all, had significantly more non-shootout wins than anyone else in the league.

We earn points playing hockey, not competing in skills competitions, in Hockey Town.

I may not be drunk, but that seems dangerously close to an insult to the teams remaining: you're saying no team has a chance, that Pittsburgh will win with Parise, so give up Detroit, Chicago and Toronto. If only you were as wise as the Ducks GM and traded away veterans rather than try the impossible.

In contrast, I was saying your Ducks team was good enough that it MIGHT have gone to the conference finals if not all the way, that's how impressed I was, and how surprised I was that you traded away what turned out to be a hot duo: Selanne 1st in league scoring, Visnovsky 2nd in assists. They might have played that hot on your squad to. And with the other talent you have, your team could have been cup contenders. THAT is what I am saying. I am NOT saying it was unwise to make the trade, ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, just WHAT IT COST YOU. You can deny that the trade may have cost you a better chance at the cup, that your team might have gone all the way. That's your opinion.

By the way, our teams didn't go just as far. Mine went to game seven overtime against the top seed. Yours bowed out earlier in the round to a lesser seed. And yeah, the trade helps your team down the road.

My God can we go two days without bickering like a child.

Grow up because I'm not here to play babysitter. If we can't act like adults here then I'll make sure to remove the cancers.

Grow up and have fun. It's a ******* forum simulation game, not real life.

I have enough on my plate here already with having to make sure everything is "peaches and roses and everyone loves each other."

I'm starting to get extremely frustrated here and when I get frustrated that leads to changes.
