I think May Ray got in more **** for just being subpar than Fleury did for having the worst goalie performance in recent memory.

I love the way Gillis thinks. Similar to bringing Sundin in for the Sedin/Kesler factor, he wants to bring in a big body power forward type to help Kassian along the way.

Hopefully its Doan, but I wouldn't even mind seeing Arnott brought in on a one year deal, Aquilini has shown he's not afraid to spend on risks.

I think Arnott is a poor fit. Ideally, the Canucks want to use their third line in away that does maximum heavy lifting against the toughest competition.

Don't think Arnott has that in him.

Yeah but we can't afford Miss Canada long term, who just happens to be a coug as well. That coug in the corner is going to cost you a can of Lucky and she's ours for the year! Miss Canada coug will leave us house broke and will not put out for the last half of the relationship (sound familiar married guys?). I'll take the Lucky and a quickie option on this one thanks!

Or we could quit with the whole idea that ahaving zero scoring in the bbottom 6 is a good thing

Difference is, neither player was 60 years old like Arnott.

did everybody forget how he was implied as the "cancer in the room" in Nashville

this guy likes to call the shots as if he's at the top of the food chain. does not seem like the right fit in the "fun & joking" atmosphere of the Canucks locker room

Yeah Nashville fans and the subject of Arnott is a pretty easy way to see the contention they have for him. Personally I knew nothing about this (but that's not new).

I'm not going to lie, there is absolutely some risk with Arnott but I picture the worst case scenario being very similar to the Mathieu Schneider situation. Basically, Arnott would be traded or waived. What are the chances that happens? I don't know, but I do think the risk is there. The upside is there as well though, upside being something similar to Mark Recchi in Boston over the last couple seasons.

Considering no one on this site has stepped foot in an NHL dressing room with Jason Arnott, I'll consider that topic heresay and conjecture. And honestly, I've never heard anything about that personally.

Exactly...if Arnott can do at "60" years old what Booth and Raymond do in their prime, why not take a flyer on him for one year at a cheap price?

Better than having a teeny, tiny AHLer (Schroeder), a guy who is a shadow of his former self and has less offensive ability than Chris Tanev (Malhotra), or a guy who has never proven himself to play third line minutes effectively (Lapierre).

seems like if it's arnott or doan but not both for MG, then the hole he sees arnott filling is probably not second or third line center but kesler's spot on the PP (he's also RH and great at faceoffs). i would imagine arnott if we sign him would be a specialist on the first PP unit while getting shielded ES time at fourth line wing.

I don't see any reason we can't sign both Doan and Arnott. IMO Arnott is a better fit at this time over Schroeder. Arnott has size and experience over Schroeder and with our team winning back to back presidents and always expected to push for the cup, Arnott is a better fit at this time. Of course Arnott may also be in a position to receive a invitation to camp rather then given a outright contract. Of course there may be other teams willing to give him that contract outright. He is a big boy and a right handed shot like Doan. I think those two guys are a little more intimidating on the ice then Raymond and Schroeder.

D.Sedin-H.Sedin-Burrows
Booth-Higgins-Doan
Lapierre-Arnott-Hansen
Raymond-Malhotra-Kassian

Hamhuis-Bieksa
Garrison-Edler
Ballard-Tanev

Schneider
Luongo (For the time being)

Injuries: Kesler

Scratches: Pinnizotto, Weise, Alberts

IMO don't belong in our line up: Ebbett, Volpatti, Desbiens, Joslin, Mullen

Rookie Call ups: Schroeder, Sweatt, Connauton, Lack

*May be some tinkering with regards to cap space, but I'm sure Gillman could figure
that out with some minor moves and/or Luongo or Ballard movement.

I'd sign Arnott if he's fully accepting that he'll probably mostly be doing special teams face offs and 3rd/4th line duty. I'd prefer to avoid another Mathieu Schneider situation.

Having Doan, with Arnott on the cheap would be fantastic. Arnott a few years ago would of course be vastly better than now, but the guy knows his hockey and would be good to have in the room.
Both would be good additions for character and depth

Stay away Jason. Don't need your old, decrepit behind dragging this team down with your lethargy.

Seriously, people are actually discussing Jason Arnott on the team? Jason Arnott? The guy can't move. Vancouver plays a transition game, unlike St. Louis. He would get exposed so badly.

Imagine if we stayed away from every player that was hated on by fans of his former team... There wouldn't be hardly anyone to acquire...

Then we just need Weight and Nolan to make the circle complete.

Getting both makes us even stronger than last year. I'll be doing backflips.

I think your hashtag is more appropriate, drives me up the wall when he uses it when half the time hes wrong. Although a few times hes been right.
