I've been listening to this album a lot since it came out. They're a really simple rock band but catchy and interesting enough, that I keep listening. Ha.
The more I listen to it, the more I think the Avett Brothers "Emotionalism" has to be considered one of the all time great albums.
True story, my 3-year-old really likes them (probably because before that I would listen to super heavy music with screaming in the car...and he says "these guys sing nice"). So yesterday he says "I want Avett Brothers" and I put on their newer album (I and Love and You?). He says "no...this isn't Avett Brothers." I keep flipping songs and he's saying "no...I want Avett Brothers". So I put Emotionalism on and he says "Yeah! Turn it up louder!"
Never heard them but they sound good, something my gf would like. Thanks!
And it looks like Jonny Craig is back on drugs and got kicked out of Dance Gavin Dance...again. Supreme idiot. Oddly enough they seemed to have tapped Tillian Pearson to replace him (at least temporarily), who was the guy that replaced Craig after he got kicked out of Emarosa for being an idiot drug user.
Not a big fan of Pearson. He's got a high pitched voice and that's about it. No soul or grit and any time I've heard his live stuff it's all over the place in terms of pitch.
Not sure how to insert YouTube video, but has anyone given Rush any consideration? My ultimate favorite of all time! Something like Tom Sawyer or Spirit of the Radio, I think are good stadium songs, not my favs but good stadium ones that everyone recognizes.

I hear you. They're one of my favorites too. What's your take on the latest album?

Like many rush albums, it takes a good half dozen passes through the entire thing before you can really judge it. I like it, it meshes newer style with old school rock. Can't wait for the show in a month!

Yeah man, it took awhile but it grew on me too. I don't think I like it more than Snakes & Arrows but it's still better than some of their lame records. But I love the majority of their work. This is one of my favorites off Clockwork Angels.

YES!! That is probably my favorite on that album along with "The Garden". And I 100% agree with you on the comparison of other albums and S&A. I was shocked/upset that there was not one single instrumental on this album! What is a Rush album without some sort of instrumental?!
