Found it odd that Bartulis would sign in Donetsk rather than Riga. Good signing for Donbass, though.
Anyone know if Shalimov plans on representing Ukraine internationally?
Of the 8 Ukrainian's on the roster (according to eliteprospects.com), which project to actually make the KHL team?
Vitali Lyutkevich, D b. 1980
Vitali Donika, F b. 1982
Dmitri Isayenko, F b. 1988
Maxym Kvitchenko, F b. 1990
Maxym Martyshko, F b. 1994
Olexander Materukhin, F b. 1981
Sergei Varlamov, F b. 1978
Viktor Zakharov, F b. 1994

Anyone know if Igor Gongalsky ended up returning to Ukraine to play this year? I heard he was considering an offer from a Ukrainian team if he didn't receive an NHL offer. I've seen him play in the AHL once and he looked like a good bottom 6 guy who could play in the KHL. Did Donbass sign him?

Esposito has a short trip in Europe Junior Club World Cup in Omsk, tourney in Donestsk. He said about Minsk as well during press conference in Omsk if I remember.
(i guess they're allowed to dress more players for this tournament or something???)
That leaves, I guess, Silnitsky and Tereshchenko in the PHL
last man out is Liutkevych, do they send him to the PHL? He's 32...Does he stay in the press box with Esipov and Dydykin? How many rosters players can a KHL team have active?

25 players on KHL roster, 6 guys on VHL (or PHL I think) roster and 30 on MHL roster (I see no equivalent to MHL in Donbass case). It is 61 players under contract (KHL,VHL or farm, MHL)

What a mess for an outsider looking in. Doesn't Lyutkevich's passport doesn't make him a starter no matter what?
