Not sure if this falls into a thread of its own or its suited for an OT thread buuut.
I'm trying to find the best deal possible for my apt (in queens) that is NOT time warner cable..I won't go into detail on why, but thats just not an option atm. Anyway, the problem is, apperently my neighborhood is a complete dead zone when it comes to other companies not named TWC. Some have TV but no internet, Others have "ok" internet but horrid channel line-ups...The best possible thing i've ran into is Dish Network..but they don't have MSG Network which angers me greatly
TL;DR : any of you guys know a good cable + internet company for queens (near LIC) that DOES carry MSG? RCN, Verizon, cablevision/optimum are all out according to them.
I saw The Dark Knight Rises a couple of days ago, it was amazing. Seeing it again tomorrow. In my opinion, the only trilogy that tops Batman is the Godfather trilogy (with the third one being pretty damn crappy too).
My buddy has seen it 3 times. Where do you people find the money to watch so many movies? I've run out of people to mug.
If rain and snow didn't **** up the reception, it would be better than Cablevision.

Reading up internet speeds online..why does it seem like every company except time warner has god awful speeds? 1.0mbps...1.5mbps...15mbps(max) for verizon..time warner's minimum is 10mbps i believe, Is there seriously no legit internet source out there except for TWC?

I got much better speed from FiOS than I had with TW
American cable providers are so confusing from what I've heard from you guys
Don't get me wrong, here in Vancouver, it's literally picking between awful and awfuller and over paying for said service. Be happy with what you get
Well in my area all they can provide is DSL...and apperently the highest speed for DSL is 15MBPS...when i had time warner eons ago the minimum was 10 MBPS and they had 20, 30, and so on to choose from..Ridiculous
Breaking my heart man. But I completely understand. I wouldn't have been able to afford UM if I didn't get a sizable scholarship from the school.
But yes, the big house is quite a place to watch the game. I also get to watch Boo about 20 times a year now.
Yeah, UM is crazy expensive for out of state students. Your lucky pretty much every single one of your teams is really good. Basketball, football, hockey.

I just got back from summer classes less than a week ago and I loved it. The campus is beautiful and the student body and school pride is what really sold me on the school. I wouldn't recommend going to visit this month though. They're doing a ton of construction and everything is being torn apart and most of the campus is closed off. If you do go, just know its like 100x nicer without the construction. I'd recommend going to visit in the fall and going to catch a basketball game after.
We can catch some Ranger-Flyer games if you do wind up going to Nova next year.

I'm not sure if this is everywhere or just in NY, but you can't choose between cable providers here. There is a Cablevision territory and a Time Warner territory. Things like satellite (Dish or DirecTV) or whatever the hell Verizon FiOS would be characterized as, anyone could get if it's available in their neighborhood. Pretty simple.

Not to be disrespectful at all, but school pride has always been very superficial to me. I know some people think it is great, but I just don't get the same vibe.

IDK about you but I'd rather go to a game where the stadium is packed rather than empty
