TV-pucken 2012

TV-pucken is closing in and the squads are beginning to be named. The groups are as follows:

Group A
Stockholm Syd
Gästrikland
Ångermanland
Västergötland
Södermanland
Blekinge

Group B
Västerbotten
Dalarna
Västmanland
Bohuslän
Småland 2
Hälsingland

Group C
Småland 1
Norrbotten
Östergötland
Örebro
Stockholm Nord
Gotland

Group D
Göteborg
Skåne
Värmland
Uppland
Medelpad
Jämtland/Härjedalen

Anyone dares to predict the groups or the entire tournament?

Team Östergötland was named today.

Goalies
Fredric Andersson 1997 HC Vita Hästenn
Sebastian Ericsson 1997 Linköpings HC
Gusten Lundh 1998 Linköpings HC

Defenders
Hugo Blixt 1998 Linköpings HC
Sebaztian Cammerfjord 1997 Linköpings HC
Alexander Karlsson 1998 Linköpings HC
Philip Nyberg 1997 Linköpings HC
Philip Motéus 1997 Linköpings HC
Joakim Wallin 1998 Linköpings HC
Linus Björk 1998 Linköpings HC
Rikard Östrup 1997 Linköpings HC

Forwards
Oskar Carmefeldt 1997 Linköpings HC
Carl Davidsson 1997 Linköpings HC
Simon Hellholm 1997 Linköpings HC
Didrik Henbrant 1998 Linköpings HC
Tor Johansson 1997 Linköpings HC
Felix Karlsson 1997 HC Vita Hästen
Erik Palmqvist 1998 Linköpings HC
Hannes Samuelsson 1997 Linköpings HC
Markus Sandström 1997 Mjölby HC
Viktor Sjöblad 1997 Linköpings HC
Edgars Treijs 1998 Linköpings HC
Marcus Åberg 1997 Linköpings HC

Östergötland probably had a team with more "stars" last year and the expectations on this team is not as high as on the 96 crop. Though this team could probably upset a team or two in the group stage and might have a shot at the playoffs if they get off to a good start. Edgars Treijs is a sick offensive talent and was close to making the team already last year despite being born 1998. Look out for him.

Should be an interesting tournament, I'm guessing one of the Stockholm teams are favorites to win?

I'm pretty sure that Angermanland's team this year is the worst of the teams that they've sent the past four years. By a quite big margin too. They will have a hard time this year, but at the same time I know nothing about the teams they'll play. So anything can happen I guess, even if I doubt that they'll have any success this tournament.

Angermanland is playing practice games against Vasterbotten this weekend. Anyone know the scores?

Could you, please, be more specific? Would like to know a bit more about this kid.

Are the two Smaland teams divided into a better team and a worse? Like Sthlm did with Stockholm Vit and Rod? I can see that Stockholm has chosen to do a geographic split this year.

Good move by Sthlm!
So much more fair to both players and the game itself to represent a subdistrict, like Sthlm North or Sthlm South, than to run with an A-team and a B-team.

He's born in Latvia, at least. But I see he's played in Sweden for quite a few years now.

His youth team is SK Riga so I guess that he's born in Latvia as Joe said. I've always thought that you need to be Swedish to participate in TV-Pucken though, maybe he has double nationalities? According to his Eliteprospects page he's "only" Latvian.

Well he's extremely comfortable with the puck and uses his puckhandling and dekes to get to shot position where he is lethal. Very fast and accurate shot. But he doesn't shy away from physical play either and likes to dish out offensive hits while holding the puck.

Sometimes too creative maybe, but all in all very skilled at this point.

Sounds impressive looks like latvia getting another skilled forward prospect

Hopefully he will chose Latvia as his national team...I never liked when players from "smaller" nations choose "big" nation as their national team to play for. That is stupid. Country is not club and should be not for the sale and betrayal. Smth like Nick Sörensen did (Dane who opted to play for Swe).

All the best to Treijs in his development !

Well i hope so too,but he doesnt seem to have double nationalities listed on his eliteprospect page,so looks like he is a latvian citizen and should play for Latvia

Sörensen has a Swedish mother and Danish father and has lived just about his whole life in Sweden. He has never represented a Danish club. I also heard he doesn't even have dual citizenship(only Swedish), but don't know if that's true.

Anyway, this would be completely different.

Didn't know that, I saw that Eliteprospect lists him as DEN/SWE player born in Denmark.

Thanks for info !

Oh but i mean Treijs is born in Latvia, judging by his Eliteprospect page has only one nationality so he SHOULD be playing for Latvia.

I found this year old article: http://www.hockeydirekt.nu/vagen-mot...tt-tv-pucklag/ It says "he came to Sweden a couple of years ago and speaks Swedish fluently now". It definitely doesn't sound like he has any Swedish parent.
