voted for McColgan add Kyle Jean

and quick question why does Boo has his nickname in his full name instead of Cristoval??? http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p...php?pid=152806

ya never saw Ryan "Cally" Callahan or Henrik "Hank" Lundqvist..

Boo sounds like a name that someone calls their significant other like thats my boo..

Was tempted to go with Hrivik, but I'll go with Nieves here because of the raw tools. I still have concerns about his hockey sense. Just have to like a kid with that kind of skating ability. Could carve out a career as an energy line player on speed/size alone.

I know he doesn't have the pedigree so I am not surprised he isn't getting votes...but I think Hrivik could really shock some people.

For a player like that, as long as he doesn't run into any major injuries, they can normally carve out a role like Erskine or Bickel or Strudwick.

Just my .02$.
Oh, I like Noreau. I think he's a decent prospect. A real long shot compared to the top 12, but a decent prospect.

Unfortunately, I don't see that changing. He's the same player he was his draft year. Completely plateaued.

I don't know if that is true. He played on a terrible team this past season. Not too much on that Kelowna team. He got dealt in the offseason, so we'll see if he can do something with a little more talent on the roster. He's more of a passer than a scorer and if there aren't people putting the puck in the net, it's going to be hard for him to produce. I think he can still develop. He might not be a player that can be the top offensive gun on a team, but a good role player.

This is pretty much his make or break year though. Under-perform as a smaller player and it's unlikely he'll get a contract. Someone will take a shot on him if he doesn't get one though.

He's not added because he's not a good player, is weaker than a small child, and is one hit away from retirement.

His skating is a bit of a concern for me. Offensive talent is undeniable, and I like his willingness to adapt to different styles of play, but he needs to really put his foot down every shift if he's going to make the jump to the NHL.

Yes and no. His teams have not been very good, but there's a genuine lack of focus that he's shown and it reflects in his junior numbers the past three years. It's hard because you see flashes of the tools, but it doesn't seem to all fit together like it should. When a junior forward can't score their age by their second or third season, it's usually not a good sign.

I mean the kid scored 18 goals last year, as a 19 year old, in the WHL. That's not acceptable, regardless of the team he's playing for.

Boo. Add Ceresnak.

It's all the size/speed package with Boo right now. He'll have to step up his game significantly in college to become a serious prospect.

Ceresnak has the body an NHL defenseman & his +/- rating of -1 was second best among regulars on a mediocre junior team after Andrew Yogan.

Ryan is not nearly half the player his brother Chris was at his age, and Chris did not have concussion issues. Yet Chris has been no more than a career minor leaguer.

If not for the fact he is Ray's son, a 5'8" finesse player with concussion issues, who scored only 14 points in a full season in the AHL after an underwhelming junior career, would be nowhere on the radar as an NHL prospect.

I do think Andersson was a great pick on the 4th round. But he was selected a full 2 rounds (or 60 players) after Nieves in June's draft. What has happened exactly in the last 6 weeks that now makes Andersson a more valuable prospect than Nieves?

Controversial opinion: I wouldn't be floored if we choose to not tender McColgan a contract.

How is Hrivik a better prospect? McColgan? We already know all of McColgan's flaws. I'll easily take Boo over him right now. Sure, that may change. But I've seen nothing of McColgan to rate him above Boo.
