I don't know if it's worse. Not sure if that's the right word. What I think it does is not let each guy live up to how good they could be on the PP with both of them there. I think when Sid is out, there is 1 chief on that powerplay, and it's Geno. It's unquestioned...just get Geno the puck. When they're both on there, both of the guys need their touches.

Also, I have noticed that Geno really likes working the entire right wall. The area he covers is cut in half when Sid is down low. The thing about it is though, I don't think things really affect Sid with Geno there because of where Sid plays. It does impact Geno, IMO.

I believe Sid is going to have a monster of a season. One of those that completely separate him from the rest of the NHL. More than 140 points. Possibly 150. We haven't seen the peak of his career yet.

jesus, i love crosby as much as the next guy but, really, 150 points?
My guess is 41+67. Number will go up once he gets a winger other than Dupuis and Kunitz.

He was on pace for way more with the same wingers before the injury.

Yes. but thats a small sample. i mean, can he keep up the magic run he had during his scoring streak? i doubt it over a full season.

Crosby is approaching the peak of his career. No reason to think that he would only equal or do worse than his 2nd season in the league. Especially considering what he has done on the ice over the last 2 season. I say this assuming he is fully healed and that he is training harder than ever (physically and mentally). I just don't believe we have seen the best of his career yet and that his best is right up there with the greatest player (Lemieux) of all time.

scoring has gone down across the board since his 2nd season in the league. He doesn't need to blow away his highest total to have his best season. 111 points last year would have been roughly the same as 120 in 2006-2007 just based on the decrease of average goals per game across the league.

141 points this past season would roughly equate to Lemieux's 199 point season.

I think he's more than capable of a 150 pts, but a lot of things have to go right in order for that to happen. I'm more inclined to say 120 pts. 60 + 60. Lets hope he's never hampered by prolonged injury again.

agreed. the guy put up 120 pts with an incredibly weak shot at the time.

4:15. Teach someone the role Ryan Whitney had in the Pens PP. I swear to god they did this hundred times. I kind of miss whitney.

i miss him on the powerplay for sure. I love Letang, but Whitney and Gonchar were both on another level on the powerplay.

One of Sid/Geno need to learn to play the point or separate them on 2 units. Taking Neal off the top unit will be tough to do with the season he just had.

I'd still like to see for the PP:

Letang-Malkin at the points with Sid running the half wall, Neal in the slot and Kunitz as the net front presence.

Reason being, is that Geno can still do a lot of the stuff he does well on the PP from that point position (mainly unleashing the one timer), Letang can one time pucks and so can Sid. Three one timers available up high with a guy like Neal who can snipe in the slot... I think we could put up the top PP in the league if that unit is given time to mesh.

And I still think, it wouldn't hurt to try Sid at the point either. I love his vision from there.

If we can land a top 6 RHS, we can run 2 units effectively. Especially with Sutter as another RHS and Despres/Morrow/Nisky as point options.

To my knowledge, Mario said this once to the media, when he announced his comeback. It's on HF that it gets repeated so much.

Thankfully Dr. Ted Carrick, a chiropractic neurologist, stepped into Sidís care, turned him upside down (literally), and saved his career. (sarc)

150 points is complete and utter nonsense.

*If* he plays at least 70 games I'm guessing he'll crack the 110 point barrier.

Pretty much. I think in the ideal season where he gets a Neal quality winger to give him some extra space (and rack up the extra A on account of that player's ability to score consistently), and he's completely healthy, and the league allows zero obstruction... he could conceivably get up around 130 pts IMO. If he played 82 games of Olympic hockey then he might get to 150 pts. Heh.

if sid never has another problem relating to concussions, i will seriously become an advocate for chiropractors.

Which would be 170-180 in the 1980's so he's getting close so everyone can stop bickering...
