Some do. Depends on when the growth spurt starts, it's not unheard of for guys to keep on growing into their early 20s. At the same time some people are basically done growing at 16.

Indeed. I believe they call it "biological age", or something like it. Effectively, some people's growth spurs occurs before other's.
The best Hockey players at the age of 13-14 are usually those who have had theirs early. They often have trouble panning out and developing properly because they are naturally the bigger guys around.
The one thing with Jordan is while he is smaller he is also ripped to say the least:
I'd like to add that from a season ticket holder, he reminds me a lot of PK at the same age. I think we will see him play a lot better this year in a much more increased role on a better team. A similar situation to how PK came into the league.
That`s true, but when we`re comparing to players coming from the same gene pool, it`s hard to believe jordan will be anything other than a duplicate of his brother with a a little less physicality.
You guys aren't understanding the difference between having a brother in the NHL and having a brother in the NHL that top scouts are projecting you to be better than.
No proffessional scouts said that Jordan, or jared or marc would be better than Eric. No professional scouts said that rob was better than scott. nobody said blake would outdo his great and great great grandfathers and, nobody said that brent would be as good as wayne.
Scouts ARE saying Jordan will be as good, if not better than PK. and I don't want another team to tap into that talent pool. I want as much of it as we can get.
I hope he will be the player we pick with the Calgary 2nd round pick.
Your hope hinges on circumstances. Would he be available? Would he be BPA at that turn? Would the Habs use their own 2nd round pick to select him? Would Bergevin have traded that pick to move up in the first round? Will the 2012-13 season be canceled, in which case there would be a draft lottery.
If Montreal doesn't get him, I would love that Toronto draft him. That would be so good for the rivalry with each of Mtl, Boston and Toronto with a Subban in the line up. Just start to think all the press PK got since he's in the NHL. Add his two brothers to Toronto and Boston. I think that would be seriously good for hockey.

The problem is that PK had an unreal progression and if you were to redo the draft now, PK would be a top 5 selection. Jordan is rated in the bottom half of the first, sometimes early second. He would have to progress at the same pace as PK, and yeah they're brothers but it's still unlikely.

that answer, kind of puts me at ease. the main thing for me is just knowing that we have the best subban. i don't know why...he's gonna be dynamite reguardless of how good his brother is, but i just want to be the team that says they have the best subban.
Meh, brothers seldomly get drafted by the same team, not going to matter on the long run. I'd rather watch another team draft him and take the risk. If he's good, at ufa age, pk will lure them over
I like the look of this prospect thread. Has some potential and good solid foundation, needs to work on his quoting and maybe add a few lbs before he hits the bigs.
I think a good comparison would be the other prospect thread, he has all the tools.
we're bound to find some size and scoring touch on the wing with 4 of the first 60 picks. we can also deal a couple of 2nds to move way up in the first round

Most definitely. Of course there's the bigger names like Jacob de la Rose, Adam Erne, Hudson Fasching, Anthony Mantha, and Valeri Nichushkin, but there's some guys who could be had later than that. Here's some OHL that I know about:
Nicholas Baptiste - Sudbury
Jason Dickinson - Guelph
Justin Bailey - Kitchener
Stephen Harper - Erie
Some guys who may be had even later:
Nick Betz - Erie (If you watched Erie on Sportsnet last night, you probably saw him 6'5")
Zach Nastasiuk - Owen Sound
Sergei Kuptsov - Belleville
Does any have any other names for the Q, or the WHL? So many talented players this year...
I caught part of the London/Erie game last night on Sportsnet 1.
I LOVED Zadorov. That guy has the chance to be a monster. So big, yet very smooth and smart. Obviously there's the Russian factor here, but this guy could be a really good NHL defenceman.
I can see why Domi isn't a favorite of everyone. Terrific skills, but defensive game is lacking and obviously, he's small. Scored a nice goal on a backhand.
Horvat did not catch my eye. I liked Harper, good package of size and skills.
I was looking at the WHL standings and saw that Brendan Ranford is 5th in scoring...we definitaly have to have this kid at training camp.
Ranford was at the Bulldogs camp and I think Bozon,Holland and Ranford would be a great line for Hamilton next season.A very talented hard working line they would make.
