I hope Garret Sparks makes the team. He has come a long way this year and played great hockey for Guelph.

No hope for Welinski or is he just under the radar?

Noesen is going to be a force in the top 6. A shame he and Prince were cut last year. Both probably should have been there...

Was debating switching him with Noesen and even possibly putting him on the 3rd line instead of 2nd so Hartman could take his place, but I think it would be beneficial to have every line have a little bit of grit on it.

I don't see him getting much consideration with the other talent available, but he may prove me wrong.

He might make it over Grzlecyk, which I would be perfectly alright with. We will see what happens. It will be another long while before the final team roster is posted.

Goalies:
John Gibson
Matt Mahalak

Defense:
Jacob Trouba-Seth Jones
Connor Murphy-Jake McCabe
Robbie Russo-Brady Skjei
Pat Sieloff

Forwards:
Alex Galchenyuk-Stefan Noesen-John Gaudreau
Rocco Grimaldi-JT Miller-Tyler Biggs
Mario Lucia-Nic Kerdiles-Henrik Samuelsson
Reid Boucher-Stefan Matteau-Ryan Hartman
Vincent Trocheck

Line combinations are as good as anyone's guess right now. There are too many the CHL guys on my roster too

Grimaldi was invited and is a lock for the team as long as he's healthy. He pulled out of the camp due to summer school and to make sure his knee is 100% to start the season.

Not to mention that you don't have to be at the summer camp to make the December camp and eventual team as evidenced by every team since they initiated the two-camp process.

Lol wat ? That's like saying there are to many poached players on this team...

It's a strong squad... If you wanna win you take the best...

The best just happen to have a large CHL contingent.

Galchenyuk & Gaudreau will be as good as any two forwards in the tournament. US teams looks competitive.

That's not exactly how it has worked with team USA in the past

No, both are overrated...

They're good but too much hype there...

Grigs and Kucherov
Strome and Rattie
Forsberg and Zibenejad
Barkov

Lots of competition.

It's a strong squad yes, but there's some dam good players going.

Yes it has. For example, Noesen didn't make it last year because he played in the CHL, but he's probably on the first line this year....like wtf?

Flawed mentality, our has been bad too...

RNH, Seguin and Murphy all cut for no good reason... Bunz too.

At this age you take the best... Not the most physically mature. The best. Does'nt matter where they play.

Who from the CHL, besides Bobby Ryan and perhaps John Carlson, would have been able to win some games that were lost for the US over the years?

I don't believe Noesen was good enough to make the difference for the US last year. He could be one of the better players for this year's team if all goes well this fall but not last year.

Jared Knight, Michael Houser....

I'm not overly familiar with the US cuts...

I would to need to see the camp rosters.

Knight would have been a role player at best and with the poor play in front of the goalies last year it's hard to imagine Houser doing any better than Campbell or Gibson. I don't think you really have a valid foundation for your opinions and you're pretty much admitting that with what you're saying here.

Houser was given plenty of chances to make Team USA. He couldn't stop from getting lit up in the goalie camps or the summer camps. He didn't deserve to be there and that's before considering his competition was Campbell and Gibson.

I thought Knight should have been there last year but he's not a player whose addition would have guaranteed a better showing.

You could argue that systematically the US hasn't always chosen the best team possible by always leaning towards NCAA players. I can see some validity in that but it has little to do with individual players being left home outside of cases involving guys like Bobby Ryan and John Carlson as previously mentioned.
