There's plenty of time for more.

This is where i am admittedly a little more of a homer but my vote is Haula at 10 and in my own rankings at 10 as well.

Why might you ask? Because of where this kid has come from, being drafted in the 7th round to the impact player he is with the Gophers now is incredible. He arguably was their best player last year down the stretch and ESPECIALLY in the playoffs. This is why I am so darn high on this kid though, he came through in the CLUTCH last year for the Gophers, scoring huge playoff goals with the big boys like Bjugstad largely more silent (which is why i'm glad Nick's back because I think he'll be much better all around this year).

Haula was the go to guy for the Gophers at the most important times of the year last year, early against the Bulldogs and Whioux, then late in the year scoring gigantic goals against the Whioux, Badgers, BU and again against the Whioux, also UAA too. He scores his goals not just from outside the dots, but right inside in front of the net, he's not afraid, he gets in there, is good on faceoffs and is reliable defensively. I've seen him for two years now and couldn't be more thrilled with how well he's developed thus far, and that is why he is my wild card, and why i think he deserves to be ranked in the top 10 for the Wild given especially where he's come from.

Vote Haula! B)

Again, props to Haula for coming so far against the odds, but that doesn't suddenly make his upside any higher than it ever was. Lucia can be a legit top 6 winger, and has size and skill to get there. Haula is a tweener at best... always has been, always will be. Has he come a long way towards making it more of a possibility? Sure thing... but Lucia's prospect strengths just shine far brighter IMO.

Haula has come a very very long way for a 7th round pick, but he's still a very longshot for making a top-6 role in the NHL. Both Lucia and Bussieres have higher ceilings, and probably have a markedly better chance of making the NHL in some capacity.

As for the rest of the field, Kampfer is at least an NHL depth defenseman, as he's shown in his 61 NHL games. Gustafsson and Kuemper have garnered much more impressive accolades (although goaltenders are incredibly hard to project) than Haula. Cuma's ceiling has been lowered due to injuries, but he's still a better bet for making the NHL than Haula.

I just can't see any compelling argument for voting for Haula at this point.

Lucia. Don't like him, but this is a huge year for his development. Kuemper for me next, because of his size and proximity to the NHL over Johan.

Very true, and this is no knock on Lucia, kids a great talent. I just see Haula as being able to handle a top 6 role in the NHL if adds some more bulk to his mass he's proven his kind of gritty hard nosed game can be successful when it comes to scoring skill. At worse if he continues his development, i see him as a slower version of Darren Helm, which is certainly an important role and not a bad thing whatsoever.

I've always like Kampfer; hoping he makes the team somehow this year (doubtful though)

You compare Haula to Darren Helm... that's fine, but would you take Helm when Dereck Stepan is still on the board? I doubt it. That's who Lucia gets compared to by scouts... go figure.

Went with Gunnarsson.

Really like that kid. He's poised, mobile, has decent offensive instincts in addition to his excellent D and he seems surprisingly NHL-ready, even for an overager. He will be an interesting AHL addition if he jumps the pond.

That being said, I've only seen him at the prospect scrimmage so I'm not completely sold yet. Still, so far so good.

But what if Darren Helm turned into Pavel Datsyuk all of a sudden.

Gotta go Lucia. He had 94 points last year with Penticton that's pretty impressive. I'm excited to see what he does in college.

Hmm...missed one while out of town.

Lucia. Highest upside of the remaining prospects IMO.
