As much as I would love to see it, I dont see the team scoring 36 more goals than last year.
See, I don't think it's a stretch at all. Simmonds scored 28 last year while playing 3rd line minutes. He's going to get top six ice time and as well as 1st unit PP time. I don't think it's a stretch for him to add 5 to 7 more goals to his total this year.
Voracek is going to be playing with Giroux and Hartnell, so I can see him easily adding an additional 10 to 12 goals to his total. He's got the speed and play making ability to keep up with the two and I can see Claude and Hartnell benefiting from that as well.
Briere had an off year last year, but he's usually good for 30 to 35 goals a year, so there's some additional scoring added there. I also think the two sophmores in Schenn and Couturier will also add to their goal totals from last year. Schenn should easily get 20 and Couturier had 13 while playing 4th line minutes. Couturier is going to get 17 to 18 minutes a night, so I don't think it's a stretch that his numbers go up significantly from last year.
The biggest jump I gave was Meszaros and him scoring 14 this year. With Carle gone and with Timonen getting older, I can see the Flyers using Meszaros on the point and letting him unleash his bomb of a shot from there. He should easily hit double digits in the goal department. Talbot, Fedotenko and Wellwood will probably be given a decent amount of ice time and will play on the third and fourth line throughout the season, so I don't think it's a stretch that those three will hit double digits in the goals either.
Laviolette likes to let his skaters skate and he likes the aggressive forecheck system. That system will always help with a player's numbers. I don't think it's out of the question that a jump in goals can happen.
Let the biased-ness begin, list all the players on the flyers roster that will play the majority of the season and how many goals, assists, and total points they will all end up with at the end of the season higest to lowest, just for fun since Doan is taking forever and there isn't much to do!
My lineup:
Hartnell/Giroux/Voracek
Simmonds/Schenn/Briere
Fedotenko/Couturier/Read
Rinaldo/Talbot/Wellwood
Bryz 39wins 2.39 GAA .914 save %
Leighton 10wins 2.82 GAA .908 save %
I know that this will be unpopular amongst Flyers fans but I see Giroux dropping to 85 - 90 points now that he is an established allstar and everyone will target him.
Briere will bounce back an score more than 50pts.
Rusty has delivered less than 10 assists only once in more than 10 years in the NHL so I wouldn't expect him to drop to 6.
Bourdon's numbers I can agree with because he will play less than 50 games before going down with another concussion Gervais 3-9-12 and Gus 1-15-16 will fill in nicely.

The big wildcard is Read. Did he drastically over perform and will fall back to earth this yr, ie get like 15 goals or so, or wil he be a reliable 20 plus goal scorer.
One thing I found a little weird...how giroux hartnell and voracek can produce so many pass with so poor goal scoring ...i know there pp and line change but that much of a difference between pass and goal on the same line I think its odd.
Giroux had 28 goals last season... Hartnell had 37 (6th in the league)... Jagr had 19 and Voracek had 18... I think it's safe to say Jake will have over 20..

How do they lack goal scoring?
Im referring to the projection not what they put out last season...some say hartnell 30 and giroux voracek near 30 so that not alot of goal
And Im just doing a simple math between goal and assist people are projecting on that line maybe Im wrong but thats alot of assist for not so many goal thats all
Scott Hartnell - Claude Giroux - Jake Voracek
Wayne Simmonds - Brayden Schenn - Daniel Briere
Matt Read - Sean Couturier - Eric Wellwood
Ruslan Fedotenko - Max Talbot - Tom Sestito
Zac Rinaldo
Nicklas Grossmann - Braydon Coburn
Kimmo Timonen - Luke Schenn
Erik Gustaffson - Andrej Meszaros
Marc-Andre Bourdon

This looks good to me. Although I think Schenn is low Briere is high and Simmonds is low. I think Simmonds could score 30-35 this year on the PP the whole year. Wellwood is high as well

This is pretty much what I would project for each player. The only thing I would change is Simmonds' goal total. I think he hits 30 goals this year, especially with playing in front on the PP all year. So with 30 goals that would give him 53 points.
And to what another poster asked earlier, I think anything less than 50 points from Schenn is definitely a disappointment.

If Simmonds scores 30, I'd be pretty surprised. He definitely went pretty cold down the stretch and into the playoffs. I certainly wouldn't bank on him getting first PP time for the whole season, particularly if B.Schenn and/or Voracek make significant jumps or Briere surges back to form.
As for B. Schenn, I expect 50 points, but 45 would just be pretty meh. Below 40 would be pretty awful (injury or not, because it would just make him injury prone... almost worse).
I think Jagr will get about 60-65 points......all this talk about 100 pts by the Jagr lovers is insane...oh wait...that was last year I still think Jags will get 60-65 points with Dallas
