Ive only been to one game. It was in Jan 08 against Philly.
Here's what I remember:
-Raycroft actually played very well which shocked me
-Antero Niittymaki was so good. We had so many shots but he was a wall
-Downie sucker punched Blake in the eye
-Tucker was entertaining
-I felt like the only time we had a chance of scoring was when Sundin was on the ice
-It was 2-0 flyers going into the 3rd even though we were easily outshooting them
-Sundin scored with a huge slapshot in the 3rd period to make it 2-1
-Sundin then tied it up and the place went ****ing crazy (4:10 of vid)
-flyers scored on a pp
-kubina took a dumb penalty
-never got a good chance to tie it back up
Leafs vs Red Wings in 2008 I think when Antropov scored the OT winner and Sundin and Tucker scored the other goals on Hasek. Toskala in net for the Leafs. Was a good game, happy to have seen Sundin before he retired.
April 14th 1994, 10 days before my 5th birthday. The Leafs beat the Winnipeg Jets 7-0.
My story from this game that my dad told me years later was growing up we had a hockey game called Wayne Gretzky Hockey 3 (some of you may remember it) for the computer. In between intermissions they used to show the zamboni cleaning the ice. It had DUFF written on the top for who knows why, but every time it would go by, there was a spot it would "miss" and I would say "Hey Duff, you missed a spot!" So anytime during the actual intermission during the game, I would stand up and yell at the zamboni driver "Hey Duff, you missed a spot". Apparently by the end of the game I had gotten the whole section to start yelling it, and one of the people in our section told my dad it was the most fun he had at a game in a long time. Always thought it was kind of cool.
I don't remember much else about the game. But I always enjoy hearing others stories about their first game experiences.
I believe it was January of 2009, and I had been wanting to go to a Leafs game for like 18 years.
Anyways, it was a gift from the gf at the time, and it meant a lot.
They lost 2-0 to Carolina in one of the worst efforts I have ever seen a Leafs team give.
Regardless, it was still special to see, and I've gotten to go to many since.
My first actual Leafs game was a year before in Pittsburgh. They lost 6-1 with a Malkin hat trick. Was still awesome to see Crosby and co., even though we had seen him a couple times the year before, in Pittsburgh as well.
i was about 14 on holiday from Ireland visiting relatives, they took me to a game. I bought my first jersey in the stadium as we arrived it was the season after the lock out against Boston we won and i was hooked from then on.
