I just started watching at the 62 minute mark. Is there extra time or do they go straight to kicks?

That was a Scott Norwood-level miss.

Apparently Mick Magoo and Don Van Massivehoser are reffing the game.

Suhr guaranteed at least a silver medal right now. Still has a great shot at gold.

It hit two Canadian players arms/hands. Tough call but hardly garbage.

Extra time coming up.

USA took it to Canada right from the start, but couldn't convert. Canada's been up by 1 goal three times and the US has come back to tie each time.

My wife is attempting to do vocal auditions downstairs right now and my level of hollering at the TV isn't going to help.

OT from soccer but this is pretty cool...

"Usain Bolt was in the middle of an interview when the US National Anthem began playing as Sanya Richards-Ross was being presented with her gold medal. Bolt instantly stopped the interview — which was being aired live — to acknowledge the presentation and show respect for a fellow athlete."

Regardless of the outcome, this will be great boost for the Canadian women's program.

It's only a handball if the touching is deliberate. It's not supposed to be called if a player kicks the ball into your arm like that. Only if the arm is in an unnatural position intending to handle it.

I've played and coached the sport. I don't need the rules explained.

I'll agree to disagree on this.

All of it was set up by the goalie's poor judgement leading to the indirect kick.

Jen Suhr wins the gold at 4.80M, wins on fewer misses.

I love it. Nice change from the flopping that is frequently part of the men's game.

It was a quick play but the second Canadian player shouldn't have had her arm out. When you turn like that you have to tuck your arm in as well. If it hits your upper arm you get some leeway but not if it goes off your forearm or hand. Tough call but I wouldn't say they got "jobbed".

Canada sure has played their hearts out, though

Yeah, they've both been playing with a crazy level of intensity. If this was a men's match it would be 20 minutes longer with all the rolling around they'd be doing

edit: what was Rapinoe doing throwing her hand up like that on that last set piece? Lucky she didn't hit anyone

She put her team in that position. Bad things can happen when your defending inside the 18. All she had to do was kick it out. She does that and the PK never happens.
