You're just ignorant towards it like most Americans. Nothing wrong with it though. Soccer is a sport of patience and artistry. It's not for everyone. For example, I hate Baseball. International soccer is great.

I enjoy watching soccer, but only when I have a rooting interest. Most other sports I can watch no matter what.

Not basketball though.

no im not ignorant towards it. its boring. pass, pass, pass, pass, shot wide, kick the ball downfield for 90 minutes, its like watching the ranger powerplay. its just a terrible, terrible game. i've given it a chance plenty of times.

for the record, i don't like baseball either

Ok so maybe ignorant was the wrong word. You can't appreciate it for what it is. It's not your cup of tea. Like I said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. You just need to have an appreciation for the patience and skill it takes to score. It's a very low scoring game for a reason.

I love to play soccer, but in order to watch it I must be rooting for a team.

I.E. I enjoy watching international friendly matches and the World Cup.

Euro 2012 was great too.

Remember this?

I can only find soccer interesting during these giant international tournaments. I really like watching the world cup and the Olympic soccer matches but outside of these tournaments I can't watch the sport. It makes it that more interesting when you're playing for your country and there's something big on the line.

But all in all I have to agree that while it requires incredible skill to play it is also quite boring for a majority of the time, at least to me.

WTF is with hockey?

All they do is run around with sticks on artificially frozen water and pass, pass, pass and shoot the puck. Absolutely no excitement whatsoever. The fighting is also ridiculous.

Soccers alright but it's not something I can watch all the time. I'll tune into Euro/Wolrd Cup and Olympic matches, and the occasional Red Bull game but that's it.

Agreed. But I can't watch other than Euro/World Cup and some Olympic matchups.

I feel that soccer would be much more entertaining if the playing field was smaller.

i just dont understand how people can stomach it for that long of a time period. its not interesting at all. i will honestly never get it.

i do appreciate the endurance the athletes have, that itself is amazing. but the diving (much worse than whats in our game), the lack of action for minutes, even 10 minutes at a time is terrible. i think in the euro cup or whatever it is a team had 2 shots on goal in 90 minutes. TWO. how is that interesting?

I cant for the life of me watch MLS games, a lot slower than EPL or Serie A games. I feel like you have to grow up with soccer to enjoy it, much like baseball.

Understandable.

I despise the diving in soccer. It takes away from the game.

Exactly. Having played soccer for 6 years (12 seasons), I have a great appreciation for it as I understand the game and know how it works. I also have a genuine interest as I played for 12 seasons.

Can't compare the two. Hockey is so much more fast-paced, so much more physical, there are so many more scoring chances. I have "patience" when I have to deal with customers *****ing at me that their order is wrong. I don't want to have to exhibit any patience when watching sports, something that is supposed to bring me excitement.

i grew up on baseball. as a kid i was much more into baseball and the yankees than i was hockey and the rangers. but as i stopped playing and just began to watch the sport, you really see how boring baseball is as well.

my dad used to do a lot of work for a player agent at signings at what not and i had the pleasure of meeting many baseball hall of famers, and i cannot tell you how many of them told me that watching a ball game when they got older was as interesting as watching paint dry. i mean this isnt coming from a casual fan, this is coming from someone who was so good at that sport they made the hall of fame.

For me its:

Hockey

Football

Soccer (olympic/world cup only)

Basketball

Baseball.

Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I don't understand how soccer is so low scoring. That net is huge!

I see this and it makes me wonder how stuff like this doesn't happen all the time.
