I'd much prefer the Nexus with Vapor dimensions. The boxy sticks feel wrong. Wish there were more top hand flex sticks out there. Going up to a 75 flex with a Nexus might be a fun experiment.
I think it'll just take time to transition to the squarer shape. I'm going to reduce the size of the tape knob at the top of the stick to make it easier to grip.
Exact same here.
I've been using a pm9(Malkin, Zetterberg) for about 2 years, but a got a Boedker pro-stock APX with a Drury-like crurve.
Love everyting about it, but I can't keep my slappers down, and can get a backhand up.
Yeah I also switched from a Kovalchuk (iginla, kane type curve) to a more open TPS pro-stock curve (don't know who's) and at first my back-handers really suffered. After dedicating a day of sticks and pucks to just working on my back-hand with the stick, I'm back to being able to roof it pretty easily again.
Finally got my Bauer One80 ice skates converted to roller skates. I also took them out for a 2 hour spin at the outdoor rink here. Man, turning/stopping/going backwards is so different. I can go just as fast skating forward and forward crossovers but not so much on the rest.

Love the Red Star Rocket wheels. One of my roller teams plays at a rink with a waxed hard wood floors that chews through wheels like it's nothing. I'm wrapping up my second season there since using the Rockets and I haven't noticed any damage to them yet.
Not sure what the mounting cost is. I work at the local rink so my buddy did them for free. The cost of the chassis, bearings and wheels came to $135 delivered from IceWarehouse.

Nice, good to hear they're durable. There's a smooth painted concrete rink across the street from the ice rink here. Almost no wear from a 2 hours skate yesterday. Hopefully that keeps up.
Bauer Supreme ONE20's. On clearance for a very cheap price.
I'll honestly be surprised if I get more than about 6 months use out of them, but they'll tide me over until I can afford a better pair, and hopefully it won't take me more than like 2-3 months in order to be able to afford something nicer.
This thread is why I ended up replacing my old skates.
Good luck with the new skates, hopefully they'll tide you over until you can get another pair. Your other ones looked bad! Good thing they didnt give way when you were skating!
Have 2 games later on tonight. One with my C2 team and the second one is with a C team that I think I'll be moving up to next season. Movin' on up! I guess that means I'm getting better!
Got two goals tonight. After scoring a single assist in the first five games, I've been on a six game point streak.
First goal was a pure garbage goal, pretty rare for me actually, I was at the doorstep and a rebound came off the pad, I swear I hit it four times into the pad and off until it finally went in. First shift too. Second goal was a nice 5-hole goal on a 2-on-1.
First time with the 4.75 lie Drury clone and it is night and day with the usual 5.5 lie. It seems subtle off the ice, but there were no flubbed shots and wrist/snap shots had much more velocity and accuracy. No more pulling to the right. It was outstanding. I'm fully convinced now about the necessity of the correct lie.
Today I tried out my new skates at a pickup session. The seemed to break in quite quickly as they felt pretty good by about halfway through the session after hurting a little first.
Also I think I'm starting to remember how to actually defend properly. Before I ended up trying to play like a goalie and just getting in my own netminder's way if I tried to play D (I even dropped to a rather nice butterfly position trying to block a pass from behind the net once, which got me made fun of once I got back to the bench), but today I was pretty effective, broke up a lot of plays by faster, better opponents, blocked some shots and cleared away rebounds. The other team only scored once when I was on the ice defending.
I just bought this net for $120 at Canadian Tires today.
After spending roughly 3 hours building it, it starts raining
Also ordered a pair of Winnwell Pro Stock Knit gloves because all my gloves stink like ****. Hoping their purported anti odour technology can alleviate, if not remedy this issue.
Yesterday I got out on the ice for the first time since April. Now that the concussion is cleared up and I've been back at the gym strengthening and stretching the leg muscles I was able to do a full hour of stick and puck with no headaches or knee pain.

I have that net but I didn't get the backstop for it. Great net to shoot around at though, regulation size and easy to store in the garage.

My goal is set close to a moderately tall fence with hedges behind it. The backstop must've saved me 6-7 pucks alone today... Mostly because my shot sucks.
