Teams to start putting ads on jerseys?

read it on SNY Rangers Blog.

http://snyrangersblog.com/rangers/re...g-ads-on-them/

If they start using ads, OTHER than the reebok (which isn't an ad really so much as the manufacturer) I won't buy the newer jerseys. TBH the DKNY thing is a joke, They should have put Chase on there if anything.

Funny, that site is so full of ads and crap that I won't bother reading the story.

Would be a disgrace to the sport. I'd have a hard time watching. So sick of the ******* corporatism nowadays.

Would be embarrassing if it ever happens. Wouldn't buy the new jerseys if so.

honestly i dont mind that DKNY ad at all. i wouldn't love it but it wouldn't deter me from the sport. i would rather have practice jerseys covered in ads than one or two ads on the regular game jerseys though

I would prefer not to see this in the NHL. It takes something away from the stature of the league IMO.

It looks so minor league-ish.

I have it. Or one of them. It wasn't the ads itself, it was the extraneous video clip running on one side and the other crap on the other side which makes only one skinny column in the center to read, which is annoying. When 75% of the page is taken up something other than what you came there for, I just hit the X and am done with it.

Fine by me if they take away one or two of the TV timeouts per period. But we all know that won't happen.

I hate ads on jerseys.

I'd stock up on old jerseys if ads come onto the jerseys.

haha I thought the same.

I don't mind that DKNY on the practice that much, but it still looks a little silly.

Just leave the game jerseys free of that crap. It's just unprofessional.

Jerseys sales would plummet if they starting stitching ads to the jerseys.

Perhaps just on the Players' Jerseys or on every jersey because people are saying Jersey sale would plummet. I don't see sense of putting ad on sale jerseys. I don't mind the DKNY... at least it's very NY. When we start to get sponsored by wiener brands and Campbell soup, that's when I'll have problem with it. Corporatism has plagued the NHL already and it has already made me puke a few times... if they make jerseys into shat sweaters, people will be really turned off.

It's happening with the NBA, and other sports will follow. It's really not going to be a big deal. Once the players wear it, I guarantee everyone will buy them like they would have a normal jersey.

yeah you could get away with 1 or 2 and make them not that noticable but you know that teams will try to get more and more $$ until they sell every inch of the jersey

If the want to put it on the lower cutoff, where the NHL, and manufacturer are, be my guest. Other than that, its a stupid idea.

If NHL jerseys transform into the European hockey club jerseys, I won't buy them.

What an eyesore.

The Winter Classic practice photo of Boyle and Feds, advertisement like that I don't mind. If the manufacturer does an ad visible like that on front, it wouldn't bother me. Just as long as it's modest and it doesn't stick out. That I can handle.

This idea has been kicking around for a while. I think it's a terrible idea.
