Crosby's reaction:

"It's clear at this point that Shero won't ever give me a winger... so even though I just suffered a massive brain injury.... I gotta to fly to Anaheim... teach this kid how to skate... AND teach him how to play hockey."

Well he must REALLY be concussed if he thought he was in Anaheim, since he was in LA!

Just got back from Watching Sid practice.

Was flying out there smiling and having a lot of fun. He was mostly playing, scrimmaging, and doing drills with Beau Bennett.

Bennett's hands are def. there, but his skating and most importantly his foot speed needs A LOT of work.

It was crazy how many pens, former penguins and prospects were out there today.

Sid, Dick Park, Mike Comrie, BB, Dustin Jeffery, and two or so other players I couldn't really identify.

Other NHLers practicing today were Perros, Ryan, Miller, Stoll, I think David Krejci

Was a lot of fun and nice to see Sid flying and completely owing people in practice.
What bets did Sid lose?

Roberts was more total body fitness. If he wants to improve his skating he'll need some sort of power skating instructor. I've heard a lot of kids (who are not absolute wizards on skates) are getting this training to be the best skaters possible. If I was him, I'd be getting as much skating training as possible between now and Oct.

TK+Martin for Heatley does it in NHL 12.

What's it going to take in the real world Fletcher?

Pre lockout foot speed wasn't quite as important as it is in todays game. With the redline out and less hooking and grabbing the players who can really skate become a lot more effective. There's some guys like Thornton who are not the fastest (although his speed is deceptive), who's skill makes up for it, todays game is one that belongs to those who can skate.

Not saying Allison couldn't succeed (concussion issues). But not being the best skater makes it a tad more difficult to really excel.

Niskanen, TK and a 3rd is more likely. But part of that will depend on what happens with the cap, and how much salary Fletcher wants to take back. Part also depends on what exactly Fletcher thinks his D needs (as Martin and Niskanen are different players).

haha nooo not really... people do that all the time with California, it's hard to judge without living here for a while because the states so huge.

Anaheim is about 30-35 miles away depending on where you are coming from. It can easily take an hour - hour and a half to get down there.

Maybe for some reason, the reason Doan hasn't visited it will work in the pens favor

It's really funny when people things San diego, San Fran, or San Jose are like with in a short car ride! haha

Also NEVER underestimate LA traffic having to drive 30 miles here is more like 130 miles!

LA traffic was one of the most ridiculous experiences I have ever had. If I lived there, I'd try to move down the street from where ever I worked.

I know those ones are farther away. My brother went to stanford so I've been out there. But LA and Anaheim really are like right beside each other as far as cities go. Seriously, the baseball team uses both names
