Mission, Bauer, Reebok, and Alkali all make a full range of inline skates. Look to spend roughly 120 to 140 USD on a low end pair. It's really about trying on a variety of skates and finding the one that fits your foot best.

Try on some pairs. I'm a Bauer and RBK fan, but a lot of others are fine as well. If you have used sports equipment stores around you, I'd head there to try some to check fitment and comfort, then purchase accordingly. There's nothing wrong w/used skates, on that note.

I like Missions. Spent like $150 on a pair 4 years ago and they're still rollin. I feel like Missions fit a lot like Bauers...kind of snug and narrow. Aggressive stance. The Reeboks are a bit wider from what I've heard. But definitely don't go the expensive route. If you don't know where to look you can check out hockeymonkey, hockeygiant, greatskate, or icewarehouse.com....I don't have a store anywhere close to me so I have to order everything. But those are the sites I frequent for gear. Have fun, don't forget extra wheels.
