Probably not much to report on or people haven't been active on the boards. August is the slowest month for HF

I'm just hoping to see people comment on the latest update on the renovation. Other than the earthcam and this forum, there's no other sources to get updated photos or progress

I hope the Rangers move to a new goal song this year.
that would be like putting the crest on the jerseys again like in the 1970's. made a lot of people mad, only to return to the original. straying away from familiar territory never seems to work and ends up coming right back full circle. if it wasnt engrained in many of us, it wouldnt be a shock but i think the garden would be dead silent if the horn and or song changed. this is the lundqvist era, nash is just a piece of the puzzle.

as a hockey fan we all know, you just cant mess with tradition...especially with an original 6 team.

Why is my earthcam showing July 15? It used to be only 1 week behind. Something wrong on my computer?

Change the goal song? Really? Don't ever attend a Ranger game.

i had the same problem, temporarily change the date on your computer and you should be fine. i got it to show pictures from august 2, so its only 3 days behind. no seat install yet. they are starting on the steps in the new upper bowl, and the 2 rows of seats in the new suites.

i was watching the msg transformation show this morning and it got me thinking about how much easier of a job they have to do in there this summer.

last summer they added new concrete and steel to an existing lower bowl and had very little space to work with.

this summer, they completely demo'd the 300's and 400's and it was all new construction for the upper bowl. not saying that its easy, but brand new construction is a lot easier than the job they had to do last summer

I am really curious how the "new" MSG will look after the transformation.
Scoring board will be added next year - someone said here.. is that correct?
Any information about the scoreboard?

I am wondering how Tampa Bays new scoreboard will look like

Using the date change trick I got to 8/5 - I guess once the stairs are finished it will be painting and then seat installation?

The empty space near the top - is that going to be the Budweiser fan deck?

it was supposed to be the "blue seat bar" like in the original renderings. there will be concessions up there according to my old rep

Yea there will be concessions up there...the budweiser fan deck will be the 10th floor 7th ave side of the arena next year once those suites are moved out. It will connect the bridges to the other side of the arena where the west balcony is.

As for the upper bowl...today is august 7th, I wouldnt be surprised if they are done with the steps within the week. Hoping to see seat installation start within the next 2 weeks. Though I wouldnt be surprised if that isnt a concern right now because that is minor work compared to the roof, and 8th floor concourse which both are not completed.

Will those steps lead all the way up to the concessions? Or will we have to go through the gate exit?

The steps go all the way up the entire upper bowl. Im assuming you can enter from the top or from the gates.

They had to add steel to the roof for the extra load from the upcoming bridges and they actually got started on that last summer. I'm sure they have plenty of work up there to spread over 2-3 years

In the NY Times article, you can see the new seats in place. The seats are much more closer to the ice. You can notice the difference when you see the seats in place. That's the only picture released by the Garden.

That's not news to anyone, they said in Spring that a token group of 400 seats would be called the "Blue Seats". Not much to get excited about

Rendering's don't mean anything. That is a terrible one at that. Go to the Rangers 2012-13 iomedia virtual seating chart to get a better feel for what it will be.

Until I see actual photos of it near completion/seeing in person, I withhold final judgement.

Looking good so far though...

Definitely coming along nicely. But I still don't see how we'll all be 10 feet closer to the ice in the new upper bowl seats. I've placed my mouse cursor over the first row of the current 300s at the beginning of this time lapse video, and I'm still not convinced the row 1 of the new upper bowl is that far forward. Perhaps it's the angle or depth perception of the camera...but it really only looks a couple feet closer to me.
